2 Minecraft then the music comes on
3

Irl
1 My cousins baby that was just recently born.

2. Italy in AC2.
3. Some of the visuals in ME1/2

1. I walked to the top of a mountain (http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ_Li4IlAhE1Jd0Q922eODbswvx1g2pEKldEGpxIWwzADMeV-vTeA) (not my picture, not me in it either)

1. Not to steal from Ratslayer, but the first thing that comes to my mind is riding into Mexico in RDR. Just beautiful.
2. Walking into the Capitol Wasteland in Fallout 3
3. The start of Batman Arkham Asylum

Can't think of anything too great IRL

Vidya:
  • 6 Rhodok pikemen downing an entire team of clueless, shield whoring Nords in multiplyer - Mount and Blade: Warband
  • Enduring a dust-storm to have a crystal clear starry sky stare down at you as you approach Balmora from the north - TESIII: Morrowind
  • A wolf-pack of 5 Heavy corvettes descending on a pair of assault frigate's fighter escort and then pummeling them into submission - Homeworld

In real life:
  • The way a person's eyes light up and smile when they see you
  • The view on Cradle Mountain (Tas, AUS) as a rain storm approaches the mountain
  • Sitting down and relaxing with a beer after a hard day's work

In games:
1- entering Rapture for the first time, from the moment seeing the lighthouse shrouded in the night to my first glimpse of the underwater metropolis.
2- Bower Lake in Fable 2. All times of the day. Beautifully stylised game, and that region was by far the best example.
3- getting to the Telos station in KotOR 2. Not a very pretty place, but the sense of sanctuary after being stranded on hostile Peragus for so long and just barely escaping a scary Sith lord's dreadnought full of assassins is just ridiculously overwhelming and made me form a strong attachment to the place.

IRL:
1- arriving in Rome. I want to move there so much.
2- the sight of the snow covered Alps stretching out for miles under the night sky, lit by the moon and stars unobstructed by urban light pollution.
3- my prom date (shame she turned out to be a [censored]).

Oh, god, I forgot about the snow...

My favourite memory (apart from the concussion) was sitting on the chairlifts and singing along with 3 of my friends - the looks on the lifties' faces were priceless.

Video Games, and yes I have a weird sense of "beauty".

1. Half Life 2 when you first see Breen, and his welcome to City 17 speech.
2. The Witcher the music at the lakeside and the very first cinematic for that chapter. It really sets the tone like no other video game I've ever seen.
3. Final Fantasy the ending cut scene.

IN a game:
1. Uleguerand Range in Final Fantasy XI. The distant snow covered mountains and cliffs are probably the most gorgeous scene in any video game, ever.
2. The Scene where(i think?) Tidus and Yuna Kiss in FFX. The water, the swirling lights, the emotions, it was the first time I really believed in a video game relationship
3. Final Fantasy XI again: Qufim Island during Light Weather. The night sky and stars with what appears to be an Aurora Borealis effect going on is beautiful.

In real life:

1. The view of the valley below my house after a major rain-storm that brung a lot of fog in. It literally appears as though there is a vast ocean lapping up to my doorstep.
2. Niagra Falls. I got to see them on the Canadian side when I went to visit a buddy up near Toronto. When I first got up to the railing, I swear I stood there for 10-15 minutes without moving a muscle, it was so entrancing.
3. Trip to Canada, passing over a small river. I caught a glimpse of it and pulled over for a better look. I still have the pictures somewhere. The varying colors of the dirt, the different foilage, and the color of the water, set next to the side of a mountain all combined to form a very beautiful sight that will stay with me for many years.

- The floating Kingdom of Zeal rock formation in the sky in Chrono Trigger.
- Every single sight in Shadow of the Colossus. That game takes my breath away every time I play it.
- The Galaxy Map in Mass Effect.
- The view of Zanarkand before, during, and after the final battle in Final Fantasy X. I say final because I refuse to call a guaranteed victory against a floating tick a boss fight at all.
- The view of Seyda Neen from the lighthouse in Morrowind.
- Just about any view in Oblivion.
- Fallout 3's Wasteland.

Damn, Bethesda sure makes some fine scenery for me to list three games in a row.

Not in any real order.

Games:
1. Arrival of the Enclave in Fallout 3
2. Slaying the Archdemon in Dragon Age: Origins
3. Nod ending of Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun

IRL:
1. Snow and debris flying around when my tank roams the white deserts of Finland with its 30mm autocannon firing a burst at a target in 1000 meters... BEAUTIFUL.
Commander: "Light tank ahead!!"
Gunner (me): "Target clear!"
Commander: "Destroy with five!"
Gunner: "Measuring..... ATTENTION!!!"
Bushmaster Mk.44 autocannon: "BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!!"
Commander (to radio): "Alpha zero-three, enemy light tank destroyed!"

Being a military man until summer, I can't think of anything awesome in civilian life for now :P

The dive to Rapture, only enhanced because it was the first game I used my new amazing sound system for.
Beholding the surroundings from the top of a Colossus, which makes you all the more sad about what you have to do after that.
Lake Bilge in FFXIII. Yeah, if that game is one thing, it is really, really, pretty.

Any place in the woods around Killarney, really. Especially from the top of my rock over my waterfall.
Yakushima Island. I must have been the luckiest person ever to snatch a place to work there for three whole months.
Looking at the sky during Winter at the hut my granduncle has beyond the Arctic circle. It's not really that cold at barely 0 degrees, most of the days, but you can just gaze at the sky when there are no clouds - okay, then it really bloody freezes, but it's worth it - and see the whole. Damn. Milky Way. That is such an awesome sight.

3. Almost any place in Crysis

1. Norway. Beautiful mountains and fresh air...
2. Rhodes, Greece. That island is just so awesome.
3. When we were landing to Faro Airport in Portugal.

Unfortunately your view is obstructed by giant, hideous Buffalo. :P

Can't really think of many places in particular, just games in general, but:

Memoria - Final Fantasy IX

There are a lot of great looking places in just about every Final Fantasy, but Memoria jumped out at me for some reason. There's also places like Cocoon and Gran Pulse (XIII), Sector 5 Church (VII), Cleyra, Burmecia and Madain Sari (IX), Fisherman's Horizon (VIII), etc. Bit more than three, oh well.

In a game:

1. In Shivering Isles when you are in the place where you kill the gatekeeper. The sky was just so beautiful, all the stars were out and you could see everything, incredible.
2. In TES when I didn't know you could fast travel, I would walk to all the places, and there was one walk that I can't remember where, but I was walking up the forest path hill and there was a clearing revealing a wonderful lake lower down, pretty good view.
3. In Spyro 1, the first time I played it, was about four, and it was just magical, everything was...

Real Life:

1. In the North of Scotland, jsut after Inverness there is this wonderful road that leads through the hills and it is just the greatest sight I have ever seen. Those visiting Scotland I recommend you go to the North :)
2. South-West of France, no scenery in particular, I just thought the whole place was incredible.
3. In Lewis, in the Western Isles of Scotland, I went for a run beside the cliffs to reach a beach called Dal Beag, some great views on the way :)

Back when Oblivion just came out.

Walking out of the sewer and seeing the beautiful land. I litterally fell to my knees and cried like a baby.
