Also, shouldn't Russel Brand be included in your little fight, since he's y'know. Marrying her?

I kinda assumed he was so weedy that any one of us could have killed him in a few seconds. He doesn't really factor into the equation.

This thread lately reminds me of Katee Sackhoff's (Starbuck) lecture to Howard (Big Bang Theory) in the tub.
"I want to know why you are playing make belive with me, when you could be out with a real woman?"

I'd link to video, but possibly unsuitable for this forum.

Ha Ha Ive seen that.

Some of us haven't got girlfriends though. Just fantasies about marrying Katy Perry in my case. I could meet her in real life but it cost 500 bucks to get to a concert in Melbourne and it wouldn't be for a long time.

Because of acute social cowardice.

Heh, I also like the part where she tells him the real her isn't there in the tub with him. The real her is back in LA, spending time with a six foot four hunk.

It's nice to fantasize that some impossibly physically gorgeous person, (for me, Keanu Reeves) hooks up with us, but in reality, we want the image. We probably would not get along with the real individual at all.
Also, that ad hits it right on the head, Alais.

Why is there this assumption that attractive people are all nasty?

I don't know, but I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't fantasize about getting with a celebrity. I prefer people who I've actually met.

Probably our instinct from our nerd ancestors when cheerleaders or popular girls laughed at us with their Jock boyfriends. Or first hand experience of this. A lot of celebrities are very nice. Lady Ga Ga in particular is very nice to her fans. My friend met her.

Ga Ga:did you enjoy yourself?
my friend: yes your amazing
Ga Ga: oh thank you! *hugs my friend*

I don't think it's that, so much as a response to the assumption that they're not. Most people would not get along well enough with most other people to consider dating them, let alone marrying them, and the general concept of personality that people have of these models and actresses ranges from "nothing" to "a few videos where I've seen her talking." Yet that doesn't stop people from play-fighting over who gets to marry them, as if that were some kind of reward instead of something you'd probably regret.

Its not just a matter of celebrities, you hear people talking like that about people they know. If one said "most ugly people have really hideous personalities anyway" there'd be an outcry.

The fact that most girls put a political correct veil on the looks aspect infuriates me.

Most guys i know actually buy the: "girls don't care about your looks man, they care about your personality"

I appreciate girls that are honest about that, it serves no use, no amount of pampering can change reality.

Looks are a central aspect in selecting a mate, both for males and females.

About what you said:
Well the logic behind it is that looks can be a substitute for almost any trait and people who have good looks don't need to develop other traits.

I think that is what most people have in mind when they say that.

Explains everything really.

My mate works with a company in London which edits these models. He edits more than 100 pictures each day.

Where in my post did I say they were nasty?
Just because people don't get along does not imply nastiness.
There are all sorts of real life mannerisms, quirks, and idioscyncracies people engage in, and over time, they become either endearing, or annoying.
There are also issues with personalities meshing, differing tastes in style, recreation, sixuality, religious, and politcal views can also put a ding inrelationships.

Girls maybe, women no. There is a difference.
Can't tell you how many times, however, I have been at 5k and marathon races, only to see many fat bastards oohing ,ahhhing and wolf whistling attrative women runners, and heckling the overweight ones.
Who are actually out there, running, something those guys won't do. No one wants to be around those guys. It's not their weight, it's their [censored] attitude that somehow, overweight or ugly women are much less deserving of praise for an accomplisment than beautiful women. Have never seen a female hecking a fat guy running, on the contrary, I have seen them encourage them. I have much more respect for a person who gets out and competes, than one who stands on the sidelines critisizing.

Now there's a lot of immature females that buy into the "ohh he's so cute he can get away with whatever attitude" but that usually gets sorted out in high school after one gets burned.
Most women don't give a crap about their mates pot belly, ear hair, or bald spot. It's a mental thing with us, that's what drives our coupling instinct.

Stay away from my bluuuuuuue! ;0;
*covers head with arms and flees into the distance*

But the thing is you know blue isnt a natural colour, so really you dont feel tricked or anything, blonde/red/black/brown are natural and can be dyed without you noticing.

I have started to find http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l4xlru1rhw1qa29yuo1_500.jpg more and more pretty every day. I saw her on the big TV we have on a proactiv ad, i almost feinted at the sight of her.

 I was going to post something, but the quote below dose it for me.

If only her voice was that good.

this.

... Meh why not both, I need to find out more celebrities names, instead of just watching the film then forgetting completely about them.

Indeed, with age, women develop other needs, the time of fun with random attractive guys and short "relationships" is over, they want to settle down, then the previously ignored men come into play.

But that usually happens over the age of 25.

Just my opinion and i do not intend to debate this subject further.

I guess I am kinda like the "I prefer natural" group, makeup just enhances looks, it dosent change things completely, I guess it annoys me because natural red/blonde is pretty rare, and everyone having bleached blonde kinda makes it less appealing, its still a nice colour, or maybe I just find the idea the hair colour is natural more appealing, probobally the latter.

Depends on where you're from, natural blondes aren't rare in the slightest here, and many dye their hair black rather than blond, though granted most girls I know have died their hair at some point. I don't see the problem, some people look better with a different hair colour, some don't.

True but I just prefer it to be a natural colour rather than dyed. Well atleast Norway gets lots of natural blondes, still better than dyed hair, and imo its a nice colour, unlike here were its mostly brown hair, brown hair is meh (imo).

I don't mind dyed hair. I think it can look good as long as its not like bleached bright blonde , such as http://tvjunior.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/big_brother_brigitte.jpg. My friends have dyed their hair, black, blue, red, brown and blonde, purple.

Yes but its common nowadays to bleach it that colour. A lot of girls do it. I think if your going to do your hair blonde do it more like http://www.hairstyles-haircuts.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/blonde-medium-hair-330x511.jpg , not bleached like that. So many girls do it now it looks a bit tacky.

True, but some people are naturaly that colour, so you cant really say much unless you know its dyed, because then its ironic dying hair because your hair looks bleached.
Lots of it is fake, but still dosent make the colour bad, just not as interesting because its dyed.

Do you have something against the topic? Things are still being actively discussed so, no, I'd say not.
On topic;
Dyed hair is a good thing in my opinion. I think having the option to choose is great.
