So it seems becoming Emperor will have an impact that last the entire game rather than every tine a new Emperor is crowned. Seems like an interesting idea, and makes the title of Emperor all the more enticing.
Thanks for the link, we new about this for a while though.
Indeed, it does. The only question that I still have after one becomes and lose being an Emperor, can one still add skill points to the Emperor skill line or one must be an Emperor to add skills to the the skill line?
I don't think we know this yet, but they've said when you lose emperorship, the skill line potency is reduced, so it won't be as powerful, then I would assume you can still ad skill points, I think they would of said if you couldn't carry on adding to it.
All this is based on the assumption that they'd make you use skill points to unlock it. Seems silly to me. Person A unexpectedly nabs the crown for a total of five hours. Since he has no points spare, he spends that entire time grinding out quests or even kicking around in PvP to earn a level. He finally grabs that coveted skill point, and is left with about 10 minutes to actually use it. No, I'm thinking that they'd give you the whole thing for gratis. It is rather time sensitive, and you have already earned it, after all.
Considering its a permanent line, I hope you do have to spend points to unlock it.
Maybe once you've lost the title. I'd just hope they didn't make you do so while you were on the metaphorical throne, as that'd svck if you had none spare. Top 10 on the rankings would constantly have 4 or 5 saved up just in case.
When a player is emperor and needs to log out 5min later (due to whatever reason) - what happens then? Assumptions?
From my understanding, one is Emperor until kill or when the campaign is over.
Well since its a REDUCED POWER skill line when you aren't reigning, I like this.
And will there be a recalculation of the allicance points in the meantime? Because performance of players (and/or their online activity) is changing from time to time, so an emperor should not be fixed for days/weeks - should he?
This is correct.
Dying, logging out, ending the campaign doesn't reset it.
You can only be dethroned by BEING DETHRONED. It takes player action.
That's why god made Respecs. Sure even if you gotta put points in the line, this is an MMO and will likely have a respec system, (I think it's been confirmed). And I would imagine someone in line to be the emperor would probably have enough resources to go do a quick respec and get those emperor goodies.
It's confirmed you can reset skill points and redistribute them.
