Becoming a skiller in Skyrim?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:09 pm

Reading the TES V story in the GI magazine, it says you'll be able to chop down trees, farm, and even mine/blacksmith. How awesome is this? do you think you'll level as a skiller like in Runescape? True they would be useless for fighting and ultimately the game play, but what if you could only do certain quests if you had 30+ wood cutting, or 70+ mining? Sounds like fun to me. I love leveling skills just as much as combat.

He does have a point. Skyrim is an RPG, we should be able to roleplay as a civilian...

No body asked your opinion. Runescape was used as an example.

Never played runecape..so a "skiller" is basically a crafter-type character? I certainly don't hope each crafting/gathering ability has it's own skill, seeing as we only have 18 to give from. I also think that every class able to complete the game should be able to fight in some way or another, this is after all an RPG with a lot of combat

From the GI cover story "your hero can also engage in more activities within towns, which helps the world feel more genuine. Stand at the forge and carve new weapons from read hot metal. Mix strange alchemical substances to create poisons or potions. Enchant items with new magical effects. Explore the mundane through farming, mining, woodcutting, or even cooking. Towns are filled with activities when you're looking for a break from the life-and-death adventuring."

There's gotta be some type of leveling system like Alchemy. Or else this add in would be useless.

Not useless because even if it doesn't increment a skill it will still provide resources.

YOu said that you didn't ask for his opinion, by making a thread on a forum you are automatically asking everybody on the forum for their opinions, that is what forums are for. I agree his response was kinda rude, but so was yours.

I never asked for anyone's opinion on Runescape, though! You all are just attempting to start drama. It was used as an example, not "Oh, hai guies, do you think Runescape is better than TES?"

Well, this went downhill quickly.

Try again if you want, without bringing other games into it, and report anyone else who does for posting off-topic.
