Been 29 Days since last Patch! Any ETA on next patch please?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:00 pm

Crytek UK doesn't have that many people working for them so I'm not surprised that it takes a while to get these patches worked out. They have lots on their plates but that doesn't mean they can't take some time and let us know whats going on. Cry-Adam did say they are working on a patch that should come out shortly after the DLC. Heres to wishful thinking!

If the first week or 2 of gameplay was anything to go by, they broke even alright. I don't think we'd see Crytek crying poor anytime soon. Might be different if everyone returned their games, but these days game refunds are difficult so most people just trade them in. They'd only be losing money on those stupid enough to buy second hand copies. ( i mean they'd be stupid for actually buying Crysis in any form)

If anything I think they aren't too concerned about rushing a patch out, they only seem worried about making more money off the DLC and little else.

I seriously would not be surprised if they have bailed on us.

You have to worry when the company of a much anticipated "block buster" talks like that.

Even fail companies say "oh yeah our 3rd game will be coming and it will be more awesomer!!!! oh yeah"
Not "might if we break even"

that's talk from people who knew they were releasing a shonky product IMO.

Fear not Crytek, work on your new projects, enjoy our cash now. Because if Crysis 2 dies totally and support vanishes, I can guarantee many of us won't buy your next game, Crysis 3 or not.

I for one will watch the developers and will avoid any game I see their name on, as many will form new companies to avoid the shame of their old ones from experience.

I too believe that Crytek have bailed on us, if they have then there's repercussions.

I won't buy the DLC (without game being patched) along with many others.

I won't ever go near a product that is anything to do with 'Crytek' and will be spreading the word.

Some may say that it won't hurt them, but if we have been ditched then the more of us that make these stands the better.

Crytek get your act together before it's too late.

I also think Crytek have bailed. I can't see there's going to be any more patching which is why I've decided not to buy the DLC.

Shame really - game could still be great if they pulled their thumbs out and fixed the ongoing MP problems.

I'm already classing Crytek in the same league as Eden / Atari - a developer to avoid day-one purchase in the future until I know the game's going to work properly.

maybe they are working on the net code so it'll take a long time to improve and test? I dunno he said they will release patches so lets hope so... A region filter would do a lot!

Crytek have peoples money (people silly enough to buy the DLC), and as I knew they would - Have gone totally silent.

Cry-Adam / Crytek

Can you update us on the ETA of the next 'patch' please.

As paying customers it's the least you could do.

So Crytek, are you going to respond to this thread? You surely can't be planning on ignoring us all?

I have confidence that a large and reputatable company such as Crytek would not deliberately ignore everyone. I want the lobby system fixing it's a joke.

So where are they then???

Don't tell me they are 'too busy' and that they cannot spare a few minutes every day.

If crytek wants to make a good showing and have any kinda support and positive feedback at E3, then they need to fix this game. Gamers are the ones who make up the gaming industry and the driving force behind events such as the E3. If we continue to have a broken product up till the start of E3, you can almost guarantee that the gaming community there will be very cautious with anything crytek has to offer and will be very skeptical. Companies such as IGN, game informer, gamestop and many others will ask questions, like:

Will the new game be just as buggy with minimal support like your previous products?

Why is there a lack of support and fixes?

What could of possibly been the biggest FPS since black ops, Crysis 2, has been a complete bust in the gaming community. What can crytek offer to future publishers to insure a profitable business partnership and a successful product?

Ya i could go on and on the number of highly uncomfortable questions that will continue to rain down in E3 if crytek doesnt do something to at least 80% fix crysis 2. If i were working for crytek, i would dread showing my face anywhere near a event like E3 if something isnt done, and done now, to at least begin to repair crytek reputation in the gaming community before E3 begins.

We're looking at around 28 days since the 4MB 'patch' that fixed nothing.

Again - Crytek, can you give us some sort of INFORMATION on the progress of the 'patch' that you claim to be working on????

Cry-Tom said this:

"Hi guys, although this thread has gone on a few pages it's going to be locked since nothing productive is coming out of it. Your feedback continues to be extremely valuable to us (so long as it's constructive) and we're working closely with the devs to ensure they're aware of all the issues to be able to prioritise fixes for the patches. We will continue to do this regardless of if you see our replies in your particular thread or not."

I'm just spreading the word.

I wish Crytek would interact with us a bit more like above, it would help immensely.

Some games don't ever need a patch like the original Dead Space. Visceral Games knows how to QA test.

The point is this isn't being treated as a community. Thats just it. No one expects instant patches. Some words on whats being worked on, estimated timeframe etc would do wonders.

There is no decent level of engagement from Crytek. You can't seriously expect productive things to occur when the main people involved aren't even being engaging. (I know some topics have a lot of users who are bring up some good ideas) I just find it shocking that Crytek still feel that "seeing a reply" is what this is about.

Long way to go in terms of community improvement.

That's it.
A gaming community is always patient when the devs are in communication with them. As many of us have pointed out and as many games DO.

A lot of the frustration and people quitting is simply from lack of communication, I'm sure Cry-Tom and Cry-Adam are doing their best, but to be constantly told the same line by 2 "forum"mods that "they are listening and fixing" isn't enough.
Pretty sad that Crytek ignore the fact that more people would keep playing if they just kept us in the loop.

Heck look at Bungie.net, even the HALO 3 forum gets more user posts and DEV feedback than gamesas.com does or gives users.
As soon as I post in the Reach forum it's buried by new posts. Here I can be the last 20 posts made for a whole day.

Instead of hiding Crytek Devs and making Adam and Tom act as human shields, have the balls and come communicate with us, a post every other day would be great, just socializing with us, and make use of your news and home pages and keep us informed, is 5minutes of typing each day too much to ask?

Seriously we don't want much just some signs of life outside of DLC and asking us for more money.

Man UP already!!!!
