Been 29 Days since last Patch! Any ETA on next patch please?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:38 am

Hello,

I'm new here and I can see that Crytek doesn't communicate with their customer base much, if at all. But I would be very grateful if an employee of Crytek would be kind enough to give us a rough estimate on when the next patch is released.

I can see that they released a few patches and hotfix within the first month, but it's been 22 days and I've looked through posts and I cannot find an ETA on next patch. They probably have given us an ETA somewhere (as I cannot imagine them not doing so, because other company's usually do) in some thread, but they're a lot of them and I don't want to go through dozens of them.

I'm hoping that the next patch fixes the below;

1) I find that I hardly play some maps, I tend to play the same 4-5 all the time and rarely see others like Impact and the night-time maps as much as say Skyline & Terminal which are every other game. I appreciate that these are good, fun maps but it's not fun playing them all the time.

2) Lobbies take ages to fill up - I can wait with friends for several minutes for just 1-2 extra players to join to start the countdown. There must have been another 1-2 people in the whole world that wanted to play Crysis when we did surely.

3) Keep being thrown out lobbies either before or after matches only for the same or less people to rejoin in a new lobby moments later and then point 2) happens again. Really annoying and also it seems to make us play Skyline & Terminal again.

4) This ties into point 2) but it's rare to find a full game.

5) Host Migrations barely ever work - I cannot believe that that many hosts turn off their xbox or dashboard because I have a friend who is sometimes host and if he has to eat dinner then he exists the game back to the lobby and then instead of the host migrating it will fail. I don't understand this as he didn't dashboard or turn off xbox, he left the game properly using the Start menu.

6) If a failed host migration occurs then I get an automatic loss?? Why can't it be that the game ignores that the game too place so that no-one loses. Makes more sense that everyone neither wins or losses than everyone loses. I don't care much for stats but it make me appear worse than I am.

7) Countdowns between each game are REALLY long. It's like 45 seconds for people to vote and then this increases as people join, then once the countdown reaches 0 then if someone else joins then have extra time to vote again! On top of this it takes ages at the loading screen and then there is another 16 second countdown before the game plays. Waiting 2-3 mins each game is really long. I know there is Fast Rounds for Team Deathmatch but what about Free for All or Crash Site please?

8) Grenades are overpowered - The No.1 way I die is being shot when I attack someone else and No. 2 is grenades. No. 1 I can live with because this is part due to my decision-making, but no. 2 I have no power to control. I will be playing and then die instantly with no warning sometimes. Also it seems that even if I have full heath and use armor then I can still be killed. I don't know if it is because it takes time to transition to Armor but it sometimes in the killcam I can see that I used armor when the grenade hit my feet and I would run a a couple of seconds to get away and then it will still kill me. If I use armor 1-2 seconds before it detonates then I shouldnt die imo.

9) Xbox keeps crashing either forcing a dashboard or for me to turn off xbox about 1-2 times an hour. This is to much imo and my friends complain of the same thing. Even Fallout: New Vegas does not crash this often and it is notorious for that problem.

10) Random Energy Drain - Sometimes I wil just lose all my energy for no apparent reason. I thought it may be a stray bullet but sometimes I am in areas when bullets could not possibly hit me, like going up a flight of stairs and it will happens. This almost always gets me killed.

11) My party keeps being split up on the first game of every new lobby we enter even if there is enough people on the opposite team for me and my friends to be on the same side.

12) Unbalanced Parties - A lot of the time it will put level 10's and lower on one team and level 30+ on the other. Makes the game too easy to win.

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks in advance.

Honestly, they may have moved on. This is what Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said, "If it doesn't meet our goals for whatever reason and doesn't even break even then there may not be a Crysis 3," he added. "But if it sells anywhere near what [Call of Duty] Black Ops has, there may be more from Crysis." When he says, "there may be more Crysis," he meant there may or may not be more patches for Crysis. The word on the street is that they have moved on to other projects. Crytek UK which developed the MP for Crysis 2 has moved on to develop another game for E3. From a reliable source, "Crytek co-found Anvi Yerli revealed that around E3 this year we’re going to receive the first details on Crytek UK’s first project, which is said to be a major announcement in addition to being pleasing for the UK game scene."

If a patch comes, it is going to be rather small or rather late with large additions. If you all were wondering why Crytek has not been working hard to take care of their current game, E3 is right around the corner. Crysis 2 is not a priority right now.

Mate he was being 100% serious. You wont find anything for upcoming patches. We had to find the DLC trailer for our selves. Thats how bad communication is on here. Crytek dont support what they advertise in their game or on the box. You wont get any response from them.

Oh dear... so they won't give us ETA on patches or what they're even working on? Who do they think they are? Well, Crytek apparently lol

I am not a big gamer but I seen on Machinima a top guy there at Brink was speaking to them via Skype and he seemed they really wanted to support there product and even released free DLC as an apology.. top company! Crytek could learn from them and Treyarch.

I think it is was a bit ambitious for the Crytek CEO to say that he hoped to sell as much as Black Ops lol... they are record breakers and made over a billion dollars. Could you imagine if all game companies said that "we will continue to make games if we make a billion or more dollars" lol.. why can't theY be happy with the $60 million or more dollars they are making already across all platforms? The top guys must be filthy rich and will make more money once they licence their engine to other companies which will be amazing to see! Could you imagine an RPG with CryEngine 3! Wow!!

Do they have a phone number or direct e-mail address to ask them about my issues?

They must have some way of contacting them, as the forums from what people have said seem obsolete. I'm not the type of person that likes waiting, especially if I don't know what I'm going to get once the wait is over.

Both those links are pretty old (in todays world anyway) so I wouldn't worry too much...it's not uncommon for online games to have issues for weeks, months or longer, what is uncommon however is for a developer to not even post on it's own forum about fixes in the works :(

I can understand that as a company Crytek would be moving onto new games, that's fine, but some of my problems and others I've seen are very noticeable with a few hours of gaming. I mean after the game was made f a developer played the game for 3-4 hours then they would be able to see the problems immediately.

They knew these problems were here, they are impossible to miss. I suppose that is what annoys me is because they knew that the game was not working fully before selling it and may now do a runner and leave their customers high and dry. I only want really the lobby system to work ok. I'm not asking for extra weapons, game modes, maps or other content just for the existing stuff to work properly the lobby system is not gamebreaking but very very annoying and repetitive

You are not going to see interviews like this from Crytek unless they are working on the next game. After they release what new game they are working on at E3, they will come back here to savage what little community they have left. What Yerli doesn't understand is that they will never sell those many copies because they did not do enough to build a community behind Crysis 2. The Community Manager has not posted for months with an Q&A forum. They do not have Game Nights with people from the company. They see Crysis 2 as Cash and not an experience.

@ Kaza

The number is in the back of you book, it puts you through to EA technical support. I was on to them today trying to find out why Retaliation Onslaught is broken. I also made a complaint about certain Crytek staff & was given 20% off my next EA game, cough cough BF3 so its worth it. Complain about the game & forum & you might get one as well if 20% is worth it. Why not rinse EA they do it to us enough. You never know EA might get on to Crytek & be like wtf r u up 2. Sort it out. Probaly not but you still got that 20% off.

I tried Facebook
I tried Twitter
I tried EA
We have all tried gamesas

PS
I should be banned soon if someone doesnt like my honest pm.

All I am saying is that the timing of when the game came out and with E3 right around the corner has caused an issue with Crytek and the community. It is important that they showcase the next biggest game coming, but at the same time support the game that has been out less than 60 days. With EA pushing BF3 harder this year during the release of C2, C2 did not have a chance to be a hit for this year. Gamestop near my house said BF3 release date still says January. EA would have put more effort behind C2 until it next big shooter came out, but their too busy trying to compete with COD. Honestly, I feel bad for Crytek trying to compete in the FPS market when you do not have a Publisher that knows how to market games.

So it looks like I will have to wait for some inestimable amount of time for a something to arrive that I have no idea what it fixes, and looking at past history it won't do anything of much consequence anyway. This is really poor service.Tha

It looks like they don't care about their customers so I'm not gonna give them a hard time because... well they don't care, so I would be wasting my time keep going on about it.

Thanks ChWigga but I don't fancy having to call EZ probably on a premium number costing me £'s for them to save me a few £'s on their next game. It kinda cancels itself out to some extent. All I want is answers and communication.

I don't hate the game some elements of the game are so annoying it's unbelievable, for all Black Ops faults the migrations and lobby system was impeccable.

My point exactly.

I've been saying all along that I do not believe that we will be getting anymore patches. They've had around 9 weeks now to patch this game. Do you think they are stupid enough not to patch this game to co-incide with the DLC release??? I believe they haven't patched with the DLC because they haven't got a 'patch'

I have said all along that the DLC is another Crytek Cash Cow and a lot of you have bought beef from it.

I feel sorry for Cry-Adam. He has a limit on what he can say or do because he kind of know what is happening, but it is hard for him to say anything about what Crytek is doing. When he said no patch before 17th, he knew the progression of the patch and what is holding it up.

Despite the fact that Cry-Adam said there are future patches coming for all platforms? You guys need to sit back and use your brain. They are going to release a DX11 patch PC at some point in the future. There will be more patches for the console because that is what Cry-Adam said after he announced there was not going to be a patch before the 17th. I know nobody wants to hear it again, but patience people. I hate being patient to, but we have no choice.
