It's been a month. Why can I not login?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 6:44 am

It has been a month since release, and I still CANNOT login in-game. Why is this not fixed? This issue has been present since the demo. I'm getting sick of this. The single-player has enough bugs as it is, but I, like many other people, cannot even log in to play the multiplayer at all. None of the fixes work. The official status is "still investigating".

For anyone who is frustrated with this, post your feelings here. This is ridiculous. When you buy a game, it should be functioning immediately. It's been over a month, and it STILL DOESN'T WORK.

Here's the thread of over 140+ pages of complaints: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10954

What's going on? Have we been forgotten??

It is fixed. Multiplayer is totally fine for me and MANY MANY MANY MANY (probably the 90% majority) of Crysis 2 gamers.

I'm guessing it has to do with your connection. You are from Canada....its mainly Australians with problems.

Really? Haven't heard that theory before...

Actually, I checked another topic, and I saw people from the United States with the same problem. My connection going up is fine, I've made sure of that.

Hey, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. The only firewall i have is Windows Firewall as I do not run any sort of anti-virus, and it's configured properly. The problem is on Crytek/Gamespy's end - I was able to play the Multiplayer demo by creating a different account in game. My account wouldn't let me log in then too. I'll try the gamespy client suggestion mentioned by emperorcleon.

Enjoy your resource svcking BS anti-virus. You do realize that anti-virus companies are only selling you fear? You don't just magically get viruses, anyone competent with computers should now to not click the suspicious links or click links in their spam. I haven't had a virus before, and guess what? I haven't run anti-virus for years either. Joke's on you =D

Back on topic... Crytek is actually aware of this issue, and there's 130+ pages of people unhappy with the fact that it's still not fixed.

It's not "me getting past a simple log in screen" dumbass.

This is an issue on their side of the fence. Nothing I personally can do, and virus protection is the last thing I need, it causes more problems than it helps. Do you just blindly install anti-virus crap because you're scared of the big bad Internet? "Anti-virus" has never been overly helpful. If you get a virus, it usually blocks it from even starting up (my experience fixing other people's virus ridden computers...that's funny, it's never mine! And I have no anti-virus! Dang, I'm a daredevil!) Notice the first few posts were about firewall issues? I don't have those issues, actually I have none at all, no viruses no slowdowns cause of real time scanning, etc. Every single game I've ever played on my computer has worked, my Windows firewall is configured properly, everything is correct.

To sum it up: this is a confirmed issue on their side. For those that have been suggesting things, thank you for the suggestions, but I'm afraid I'm at the mercy of Crytek/Gamespy.

Oh...and speaking of natural selection, you don't seem to be able to read, because if you did, you'd understand that this is not an issue locally on my machine, as I have mentioned (http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10954). This has been listed by Crytek under their list of issues (which has existed since the demo), my only goal here was to hopefully give this issue some more attention that I believe it deserves. Please read before running your mouth off again.

LOL you don't have a antivirus? Lol do as you wish but i work in the computer field.. And I'm gonna tell you something about antivirus that you obviously don't know! Antivirus software has other capabilities other then just protecting you from viruses! if you download torrents then a antivirus is your best friend, and they do a lot more then just protect you!! I hear the growing trend that i don't use antivirus blah blah crap. Well the same thing goes here as in the real world. If you don't use protection your gonna spread and not help the cause. Viruses are like human ones they cant be stopped unless your educated . Antivirus software now comes free with 90% of Internet providers.!!!! I have Norton's and it uses very low resource's and also catches viruses i never hear about...

Well that's the thing! I download torrents daily! But the important thing when downloading torrents (NOT THIS GAME! I bought it!!) is to only download from trusted groups. There are groups that regularly release stuff like TV shows, and they have a reputation (not to mention video files cannot have viruses in them by their nature). Though I would however recommend some anti-virus for people that lack basic computer know-how, but honestly, if you work in a computer field, you should have zero need for anti-virus! Also...viruses don't necessarily "spread" like that (though some of the big ones can). Keeping Windows updated is important though, that's for sure!!

Oh, I was also going to mention you can't spread viruses you don't have... I've occasionally run installed malwarebytes, run it, and found nothing, then promptly uninstalled. I think if you guys were to uninstall all of your anti-virus, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The idea of the big bad internet and viruses is sold by AV companies, who I must remind are a business out to make money. They make money out of fear a lot of the time. I have had first hand experience for quite a few years now and know just how realistic these claims are: they're not. Avoid letting the mass public influence all of your thinking and beliefs! =P Just don't download sketchy executable files from random websites and you'll be good.

You know, i think your tin foil hat needs some adjustment.

Apart from that: Just wait until it's fixed. Patch should be around in a few days

Dang, I wasn't trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist! Just, you know, take the AV companies' claims with a grain of salt. Ah well =P

Hopefully patch 1.3 will fix it.

My favorite part about this thread. "I have no antivirus because it consumes my precious resources, you're dumb"

Followed by "I know it's not my connection, It's crytek's gamespy end" When that would mean your connection. Let alone, no one believes you. I have had no issues because I properly setup my connection. No issues.

"I know it's not my connection, It's crytek's gamespy end" When that would mean your connection.

That just plain makes no sense.

"I have no antivirus because it consumes my precious resources, you're dumb"
I never said that. I said I don't use anti-virus, and then some twit decided to essentially call me dumb afterwards.

Now, I have connected and played before with the demo by making an alternate account in game - what does that tell you? A connection issue wouldn't let one account work and the other one not. There seems to be a problem with the accounts, which is something I have no control over (and yes, I've messed around with what I can from my end).

I have had no issues because I properly setup my connection. No issues. Except with this game.

Now, I am going to say AGAIN. Crytek has acknowledged that this is a problem. I am NOT the only one with this issue. There are 140+ pages of complaints. Go here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=12386

Scroll down. - "I cannot log into Crysis 2 with my gamesas account
This is a known issue that is currently being investigated, when there is a fix to it we will update this post with the correct link."

KNOWN ISSUE. Stop saying it's on my end.

Here's the link to the thread: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10954

143 pages. I assume we all have connection issues? If any of you were here during the demo, surely you noticed the same problem? Nothing has changed, and whether its my end or their end isn't up for debate. I just want to know why this is still not fixed.

Can you still log in with the demo? How about a separate windows user account? What have you actually tried and what is the error message?

read the stickies.
Only issue with the game I'm having now is the constant computer freezing it causes.
