Before Skyrim's Release

Is anyone else going back and replaying Morrowind/Oblivion, and if so, what kind of character are you playing as?

I am playing through Morrowind and expansions currently with a Wood Elf custom class Assassin.

Yep, I'm going to be replaying all the games as a Nord warrior.

I'm currently replaying Morrowind. I'm a Nord warrior... I swear this has nothing to do with Skyrim though, I just haven't played a warrior character in a while.
I'm the Master of the Fighter's Guild and I've just

contracted Corprus disease

in the Main Quest.

I'll play through Oblivion after I'm done the MQ and expantions in Morrowind

I started playing Morrowind but the Fighters Guild bored me so much that by the end of it, it was impossible to play the main quest, something I have never got around to doing.

I am now playing Oblivion and for THE FIRST TIME seeing its flaws. Still. At least the quests are not mindless.

You can, believe me. Much shorter than Morrowind (but still great).

I never stopped playing Morrowind just Oblivion. Although I may give Oblivion and the expansions another go I just don't want to buy another copy of the game.

Am always playing previous Bethesda rpgs so for me there is no going back because am already..there.

I usually play either a Bosmer, Nord or Dark Elf in that order of preference. I usually try to go for a indian warrior priest ambience when playing a Nord due to this mental image i have of a huge muscular almost giant like long white haired with deep all searching grey eyes standing upon a wind scarred snow covered cliff in the freezing cold. A master of nature yet at one with it treating it as a respected equal for it is what has made the Nords what they are.

Yes I will replay them as a Dark Elf Assassin. Dark elves are the coolest imo

I had started a new game in Morrowind and Oblivion a month or so before the announcement. Just got to finish up Bloodmoon and I'll swap over to Oblivion. I currently just got around to playing Undead Nightmare in Red Dead Redemption though, so it will be a while :icecream:

We don't, novice, we're mostly a bunch of bitter, desillusioned unemployed drunken grey-bearded old men who can never be satisfied at what we're doing, so we talk our arses off role-playing, character development and stuff but never actually manage to finish any game.
So we start it all over again, discuss pros and cons of the build, avoid past mistakes, make new (even worse) ones, only to get bitterer, desillusioneder unemployeder drunkener grey-beardeder and older, and not a dime wiser.
We're a bunch of losers, basically - ESCAPE WHILE YOU STILL CAN, RUN NOVICE, RUN !!!

Well, for one, you can't complete the whole game with one character (well, in oblivion you can, but I refuse to). So it's not like you're just redoing everything. Sad story, as big of a Morrowind fan as I am, I've never fully completed Telvanni, never gotten anywhere in the Imperial Cult, have done almost none of the daedric quests, and have never been a vampire. And I've sunk hundreds of hours into the game. I guess when there's still plenty to experience, it's not a chore.

What other game can you play for hundreds of hours combined across probably 10 or more characters and still have hours and hours of content you haven't completed?

I just play Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, or Oblivion depending on what I feel like. I'm not going to replay anything just because Skyrim is coming out, but unless I get a brand new, non-TES game, I'll typically be playing an Elder Scrolls game, or any combination of Elder Scrolls games.

I'm playing all the games in chronological order, and am currently a Nord barbarian in Arena.

All the rest is true though

I wish I could play MW again. My Xbox is in another state, and I tried to get it on my netbook, but my little GMA500 will not run it at a bearable framerate, even when nothing is going on. It just keeps crashing.

I had two playthroughs of Oblivion and Morrowind already part-way through. I'll be finishing those up, likely try my hat at Arena once again, Daggerfall I cheated to beat recently.

Hopefully someday Battlespire and Redguard will be made Free To Play.

I don't think there's anything sad about it at all. Quest-wise, I haven't done any of House Telvanni or House Hlaalu. I haven't done the Mages Guild or the Thieves Guild. I've never done Morag Tong or Imperial Legion. I haven't done any of Tribunal (I've only been to Mournhold once, for about ten minutes). I've done about half of Bloodmoon. I've never been a vampire.

I see all this not as something to feel bad about but as something to look forward to. After eight years there are still new experiences waiting for me in Morrowind and that is very exciting to me. I think of these games the same way I think of fine wines that need to be sipped and savored over long periods of time.

I think I'll always have untried factions in Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion, and I currently do. I've never done much with the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves' Guild, or various different religious orders in Daggerfall, I've never done much the Morag Tong, Mages' Guild, Tribunal Temple, Thieves' Guild, House Telvanni, or House Hlaalu in Morrowind, and I've never done much with the Mages' Guild, Thieves' Guild, or Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion. Being a knight that is the same each time I start a new game is all that interests me.

I've never really gotten anywhere in the Temple or the Imperial Cult in Morrowind.

The one character I made that was advancing in the Temple got himself perma-banned for trying to sleep in the wrong bed and then becoming the Nerevarine.

Replaying it? I never finished in the first place. I mean, I did all the main quests and expansions, and a whole bunch of mod-added quests, but I still play Morrowind and Oblivion because they're still fun, and there's always something to do.
