Beginner's Confusion

I'm a complete newbie, so please excuse me for a very simple question. After watching a few tutorials, I decided to edit a bit of dialogue around Seyda Neen (add a few topics, include a few new rumors, etc.). I opened a new file and saved it as a plug-in, then opened the Morrowind.esm master file. I set the plug-in as the active file, then opened up the dialogue and changed some of the Seyda Neen conversations. I didn't mess with the function/variables at all, and I checked the "shared by" tab to see which NPC's in Seyda Neen had the topic in their lists. After changing the dialogue, I saved the file and launched Morrowind. Thus, the problem became clear. The plug-in was not available for selection, and none of the dialogue ingame was changed.

I have a clean installation of Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. The installation location has been changed from Program files directly to the C drive. Everything is working perfectly, but I can't get the plug-in to show up in the launcher. Do I have to merge the plug-in with the master file to get it to work, or am I missing something else? I've looked through some tutorials for the last hour, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance. :)

There must be a file plugin_name.esp, where plugin_name is what you saved your plugin as. Normally it has to be in Morrowind\Data Files folder. If it's there, try to open it again in CS and see whether it's broken. If it's called plugin_name *without* .esp extension (damn unlikely, but WTH), rename it. If it's elsewhere (hard to imagine either), move it into the necessary folder. If there's no plugin_name.esp on your disk C: at all (my bet is on this), then you failed to save it. This is as much as can be said without looking.

You mean, your Morrowind .exe has full path like "C:\Morrowind\Morrowind.exe" instead of C:\Prorgam files\Morrowind\Morrowind.exe"? Or simply C:\Morrowind.exe", straight to the root folder? If the latter, you have pretty unhealthy habits regarding installing your games. Maybe that's actually the source of your problem.
