No beheading and no lost limbs part 2

Post » Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:58 pm

:D

my first part 2 thread I'm so proud

anyways I still want some nice beheading or disemboweling finishers in my rugged cruel skyrim

why?

because it looks nice and satisfying

I remember in fallout 3 when I threw that grenade at those annoying bandits and they exploded into pieces in slow motion, it was so satisfying and rewarding :D :fallout:

through FO 3 gore was exaggerated of course

so in ES I hope we see some nice heads flying and some arms falling off in our finishing moves

otherwise finishing moves will be one lame lame business

For the sake of other readers I'll say it again:

The title of this post is misleading, decapitation has not been confirmed either way. The OP's speculation is welcome, but is only speculation, not fact.

If it is in I hope its fairly uncommon.
DAO was bad enough when at the end of some fights I'd be standing in front of half a dozen decapitated Darkspawn but DA2 where one move could cut half a dozen foes in half was ridiculous.

That's exactly how I feel. I want to see it. once in a blue moon. If I have a greatsword or large axe and perform a finish move, and it is still not a high possibility, but I'd like to think a man who can slay dragons with his melee weapons, would also have the ability to take off a head or arm with a good, chance hit.

Who cares? Oblivion never had dismemberment, why would Skyrim have it?

Enough people care to create many topics and have this one get to a second thread. I'm fine either way, I'd only want to see it if they don't put too much gore into it or make it over the top and be a rare occurance.

Hmm.. I don't want it to the extreme. (Realistic) For those who played DA2 it was a constant and annoying aspect in my opinion. I would want to have it every once in a while, for maybe a boss battle or a "critical hit" but I fear if implementd at all it would be done incorrectly.

It was ridiculous in DA2, I would prefer no dismemberment at all compared to that.

I love how both threads are created through my thread saying disemboweling isn't going to be in Skyrim, because it isn't. You people really need to accept it, TES will never go back to a gore-fest that Fallout 3 is.

Seeing someones head fly off and guts being ripped out just takes away the magical feel of the game,so im glad its not included.

I'm just happy that when you stab people you're weapon actually goes into them.
Did they confirm it's not in?

Because we have come a long way since Oblivion.
Of course, FO3 and FO:NV have a bit exaggerated a slight on its gore, but none the less it does make you feel powerful when you swing a super sledge at the victim smashing their arm or head to pieces.
Added with a little realism so it doesn't manifest a massacre of decapitated corpses everywhere making a mess, as one of the comments above stated;
I want to see it. once in a blue moon

I feel that it would add nice value to the game, as long as we abide by limits and exceptions.

The Deadly Reflex mod for Oblivion featured decapitation (and more staggering and shield bashing like that which has been brought into skyrim). I defy anyone who has beheaded a foe using this mod to say it wasnt the most victorious moment they had on Cyrodil.

Well, seems we have differeing opinions. I could care less about gore, dismemberment, etc. since those things are just window dressing and add nothing to story or depth. It makes the game to action-y or like a video game rather than a cRPG. Fluff, right up there with tattoos, cloaks, scars, and cloth physics.

So yo you I say, lets :foodndrink: and talk about other, more important things, like boob physics ;)

I like how it was done in the witcher, Taking someone's head off was such a rare occurence that I did not believe I saw it correctly the first time. "Did I just send that guys head flying? wow" If it's like that it can be awesome. If I can start playing snooker with all the heads lying everywhere it does not add anything. Once in a blue moon has my vote :)

I don't actually mind if it is in, if it is done correctly. But i don't want it in for the sake of it like some people seem to.

Engine doesn't really have anything to do with it. The "old" engine could do it in Fallout 3.

It's a stylistic choice, not a technological issue. (And, personally, I've never thought "gratuitous violence" was part of the TES style. God of War or Dragon Age, maybe... but not TES.)

Haven't tried that mod. I looked at the screenshots and it didn't look like anything I'd want in Oblivion.

I honestly don't understand why so many many absolutely hate the idea of limb dismemberment and beheading in TES.

Toggle would solve all problems. However based on the demo when the bandit marauder/wolf walked through a slash to the neck, there will be no decapitation. Perhaps as a finisher/Undead.

I don't particularly hate it, but I'd like it to be done at least in a somewhat believable way.

Historically, most limb loss happened not during the fighting, but after, to prevent even worse fate - mostly the slow, painful and gruesome death by blood poisoning. It was also a common kind of corporal punishment - as was the beheading, for the people of good standing.

So, I'd like there to be amputations, especially when the surgeons start their bloody work on whoever survived the last fight you were in, but not necessarily limbs and heads flying during combat.
