Auto take gold?! I missed that one. I really hope this gets implemented. I mean, who doesn't take gold when you see it, even just 1 gold piece?

To this day the Gameinformer feature on Skyrim remains the best. I find it ironic the most suculent covergae is precisely one where the interviewer is never shown. All focus is placed on the game, its team and director. What a starkling contrast that is when one thinks of a certain recent interview which looked like a failed stand up comedy audition.

Moving on.

Pic #2 has bugged ever since I watched that video. I interpreted it - and till shown wrong, still do - that crafting/cooking will play as a minigame. That's just sad news. it's my only potencial let down with Skyrim so far.

So auto take gold means gold will always be auto looted no matter what?

Why? Under what circumstances would you not take the gold?

Certain characters might not want to loot gold every single time I activate a sleign body/creature/chest.

If theere is some kind of hardcoe mode where gold has weight then that would apply, but going on based on Oblivion's system there was no reason not to take gold. I personally would like to drop or display it.

Auto looting of any kind is bad.

The thing that probably intrigues me the most out of everything there is the "only show good items". I wonder exactly what does that elude to?
I think one of the articles that was published after the demo mentioned that the devs were considering implementing a feature to automatically take the stuff in a container you open. But that would be weird.

Auto take gold?! I missed that one. I really hope this gets implemented. I mean, who doesn't take gold when you see it, even just 1 gold piece?

When it belongs to someone else!

Also, in this map-screen:

http://th3angrygam3r.deviantart.com/art/Bethesda-Skyrim-Map-2-207040579

... I was wondering, why there is a "dark square" in the lake south-west of Riverwood ? Don't dark squares normally indicate small towns / dungeons (or at least those "special points of interest") ? Does this mean, there's something special in / below the lake ? Would be awesome, if you ask me (always hoped for a secret city / dungeon in the water). B)
Does anybody know more ? - Maybe Dragonborn1, since it was all discussed already ?
I didn't even think about it being underwater. Maybe it's a shipwreck. It could also be a floating town or something on a tiny island as well.

I've stared at this map quite a bit, but for the first time, I notice just east of Windhelm the words, "divine birth". Any ideas about that?

Yes in your opinion, but in mine gold would be an exception because you can't see or access it in your inventory. It is only represented as a number.
If everything got looted like some crappy armor I didn't want then I have to agree with you. Gold is fine with me.

Except when you accidently auto loot an NPC's gold.

As a note, we don't actually know if they implemented those features, or if they are going to stay in the final game. Its pretty obvious that they were still trying to figure things out on the board, so the 'auto take gold' might not make it in the game.

Not sure if you mean pickpocketing here, but if you do then this feature would most likely be only implemented on dead bodies. I'm sure no one cared in Oblivion/MW if I looted a corpse.

Lady Nerevar - That's cool, I'm just saying I wouldn't mind. It's just gold is so shiney and I must take it. It probably won't be implemented like you say.

What do you mean? Why would you be sneaking around, attempting to pickpocket, if you didn't want their gold?

Wow. I'm glad you facepalmed yourself for not looking at the Alchemy screen mock-up and reading.....

First off, not sure that I agree with that. Money is useful to every character, just like it is to every person irl.....doesn't matter your opinions about it, it's a sad but true fact.

Also, sleign? Is that supposed to be some joke about the forum member Sleign? Or did you mean slain?

Doesn't gold actually weigh something in Skyrim? If so auto looting could also mean encumbrance without baby sitting it.

If I open an NPC's chest or drawers just to see what they have. I don't want to all of a sudden have a bounty because the game auto looted their gold.

Well there are 3 things
1. The game might not recognize taking gold as a crime(Terrible idea)
2. The idea has been scrapped
3. Don't snoop around :P unless your actually thieving.

Again - Dead bodies only... Ala good game design.

Edit: Or only auto take from containers that are flagged as belonging to the player/public (ie not stolen).

Deity Matrix: Is your avatar Dom from Gears 3 or something else? (bit random) It's just that your "Bloody Screen" quote is also to do with Epic.

Oblivion doesn't recognize snooping as a crime. Hopefully that hasn't been changed.

Some people enjoy seeing the number of gold/money they are looting... seeing a larger number makes all the difference between pickpocketing a pauper or a prince.

I, for one, will have this option turned off if it makes it into the game.

It should change. I don't think anyone would like it if you ran into their house and started opening their dressers saying "I just want to know what you have!"

Maybe this is where we can see disposition work well. If your friends with someone, they wont care if you look around a bit. If someone hates you, they will call the guards.

i hope that snooping isn't illegal but at the same time I want npc's to react to it.. none of this entering a person's home and they greet this stranger who is looking at their personal items and looking in their chests.
