She took a quick glance ahead, noting a small formation of rocks to the left. No, this was the place. She was sure of it.
Stepping forward, she gazed down in awe. Standing at the edge of a massive cliff, she spotted looming architectural wonder that was the White Gold Tower. She thought back to the last time she had visited the city, and chuckled. 'perhaps it wasn't a visit', she thought. Squatting down, she carefully dangled her legs over the edge. She swung them back and forth, feeling the wind blow through her tight leather pants. She didn't have to look to know that he was next to her.
"So, you have found it. I hadn't doubted it," a gravelly voice spoke.
"Why is it necessary we meet here?" she replied, confused.
"This matters not."
She looked down, swatting at a dirt stain on her tunic. She tried to keep herself occupied to ignore the questions bubbling in her mind.
"I suppose you are wondering where you are headed next?" continued the man. "You are to travel to Chorrol."
"Chorrol?" she asked, pointing a grey finger out at the horizon. "What am I to do in Chorrol?"
"Sister, your curiosity is most unsettling. Chorrol is not of my choice. I am only to inform you of your next destination."
"I must trust you, but why here? Could not this message be relayed through other means?"
Hidden by darkness, a smile crept over the man's lips. "Sister, you ask too many questions."
The man's presence subsided, and she took a deep breath. 'Well, I guess there's two ways down this cliff'. She closed her eyes, took one more breath, and pushed herself off of the edge...
