Being able to make your own book/diary

Its not a terrible feature, but its a little "only for the sake of super roleplaying" and I'd rather have resources devoted to some other feature. I mean if you can pretend you are in this fake place then writing with a pen and pad should be no issue for journaling.

An advanced journal system would be interesting, but if it is just writing I think we could just tab out and use notepad.

Well, it's not a terribly demanding feature. They could add it last minute and still make it perfect.

What are you talking about? Get a controller keyboard. That's what I have. Makes writing on xbox just as fast perhaps even faster than a comp keyboard. Is for me anyway.

They wouldn't make you go out and buy a controller keyboard just to use a feature that doesn't even add to the game.

You are right. They wouldn't make you.

It's bit of an optional feature. Like sitting in chairs.

I'm KILLING stuph, who has the time to write a damn book in a video game? (Other than the devs of course)

Probably the same people who read books in a video game.

TES is a lot more than just "KILLING stuph" to a lot of people on these boards.

While it would be a nice feature to have, if it can't done on a console we can forget about it. At least until some modder comes up with something.

Why wouldn't you be able to do it on the console?

It would take a bit longer, but you know that menu that pops up when you have to add your characters name? Consoles support small keypads, and hooking your keyboard up to it.

Optional features such as sitting in chairs do not require you to buy stuff for your console first...

That's a pretty casual way of looking at a TES game don't you think?

Maybe warriors like to run around smacking swords against rocks all day but mages love to read and write.

indeed :)

I would love to make a scholar/mage of some sort, and write out my own spells :)

How are people on consoles supposed to do this? As it won't have any effect on the game what-so-ever, just write it in Microsoft Word or something...

Yes, I would like this. RPing a Naturalist would be even more fun. You could even take "pictures" that would be converted into drawings you could add to your journal. Your writing and drawing skills could be based on your intelligen-...oh wait.

i always wanted to make a journal of my ingredients, where to find them, what they do, what to mix with, etc but i would feel like the biggest loser in the universe doing that on paper or outside of the game....im all for it :D

That would be awesome (somthing I always wanted to do without mods). My charecters could have notes to remind them of there real talk instead of going off as I usually do. I do hope they would incorperate this into the game.

I mean, if you want it that bad, and play on PC, you could always make your own book with the creation kit. It's super easy.

I've been wanting something like that for a while, I'd use it. Also, on the 360 you can use any ol USB keyboard, dunno about PS3.

PS3 has a purchasable mini keyboard which you slot into your controller

I would lurrrrve this option.

And for all those PC owners worried about how us console owners will be able to type in text, the answer is this: The same way we type anything else in on our consoles.

No. IMO this feature would be a waste of developer time. I have a notebook and pen next to my computer for that.

OK, it'd be nice to be able to write your own in-game journal but if the developers have time to do that I want spears

I don't think this would take nearly as long as adding in spears.

Well there too small chances thats devs add such feature, all game versions must be equal and consoles most likely will not allow to have such feature,
but modders can just like it was before in Oblivion and Morrowind just need sufficient basis and enthusiasm.
