I am being bombed to death

Post » Mon Aug 02, 2010 7:31 am

I am at the North East top portion of the map. I met a man gave him 300 caps and I am suppose to do something. The thing I don't get is what am I suppose to do? I keep getting bombed to death, and finally I made it to the fence and it stopped bombing. But what am I suppose to do. Where do I go, and when do I go back to get my caps back? Well I don't know if I am to get my caps back or not, so please don't say. But what is my destination suppose to be? I have a feeling I have been had, but want to follow up on this quest. I see it's not marked so I don't know where to look in my Strategy guide book or on the wiki.

Any help to lead me where I should go or the name of this quest would be appreciated.

Follow the fence around to the front gate of Nellis AFB, where a major faction and many quests are. They will take you where you need to go when you meet them. You'll want to do this so you can walk back out to find the guy with your 300 caps without geting the [censored] blown out of yourself again.

Yeah, just follow the fence to the gate and have a civil chat with the guy whose is trying to bomb you to death. After that then all will be revealed.

Once you get the fast travel for the Nellis Base, just FT out to somewhere else and find/talk to the guy again to finish that bit. He's always at the same spot. There was a shack close to his place that is a FT location.

I think he has the strategy guide but just doesn't know where to look in it...

Volare! is one of the main quests related to Nellis AFB.

Thanks guys, I will do so. I do have the strategy guide but there is no name to look it up. I don't want to spoil anything els. For half an hour I kept getting blown up, because I didn't know I had to go to the front gate, I will do so and talk to who ever I am suppose to.

Thanks again everyone.

In order for OP to follow the fence, (which is a good idea) he needs to get there first.

Best thing that I found, was to run , hugging the rock face until you find a little crevice for you to hide in. once the bombing stops you can continue on to the fence. By then you should be safe. Getting to the fence is the hard part.

Really it's all about timing. Where you run and when, and when to hide and where.

PS you will not get bilked out of your money.

hot key stimpacks just in case

i always go left to hug cliffs and run over to a building here and there and back to the cliff. doesn't take too long and you're at the west end of the fence and good as gold. I make companions wait by the guy who took my 300 caps and go back and get them as soon as the Nellis npcs give me free reign of the place.

Also, take off heavy armor and use some turbo for faster run speed (and holster weapon).

Run like hell. Hide where you can and watch the smoke trails from the incoming rounds. Stealth boys are useless. They got yer number. I got blown up several times trying to get there. Then in my second game I took a slightly different route but it requires a lockpick skill of 100. It only took me 2 tries going that way. I think the advantage of taking the other route is you have better cover for the first volley or 2. But you still have to run like hell. And don't forget to put your weapons away and wear light armor (or none at all) so you can get max speed.

Also, if you're playing on hardcoe, make your followers wait back by the betting guy or farther. (I like to leave 'em at the nearest shack, so they can relax, cook something at the fire, take a nap...)

It's just really hard to run over to your mates, shoot 'em up with stimpaks and keep your own health/limbs together with stims and Doctor Bags while the shells are raining down. :ahhh:

bring three or four turbo and lots of stims. if you are wounded, you should have enough time to heal. once you get to the northern fence, you should be safe.

Everything that has been said is right, but when I first did that quest George ran into the Fire and died! I looted his body for 700 caps, but then they stopped firing at me! Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks guys for the tips. I find it funny, before I posted, I made it to the fence, but was badly bruised up. missing limbs galore. After posting and reading here, I made it to the fence without a scratch. I saved when I got to the fence since I don't think I can do that again. LOL. I see this brings up a new quest. :)

why would you buy the strategy guide? there are very few things in this game that require a guide to help with, and those few things can easily be found online.waste of 20 bucks if you ask me.

I've never wasted my money on a strategy guide. Only when something appears to be wrong, broken quest, etc., do I look something up on the web.

because it is there. i bought one for both fallouts that i have. sometimes connections to the web is down due this and that reason. if a game is good enough, i will buy a clue book to go with it.
