Being Fat

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:06 am

I always play multiple characters, and I can see the appeal of a great big, bearded, axe-wielding, fat, roaring warrior guy. Especially if he can wield a leg of roast mutton mammoth in one hand and a two-handed axe(!) in the other.

But my serious, long-term characters are nearly always fantastically beautiful, so generally speaking, no.

For NPCs, absolutely. While it's true that very few people in Skyrim would be overweight (and none but the very rich, very comfortable would be obese), even an individual who traveled, hunted and fought all day could remain fat simply by eating a tremendous amount.

a short pudgy khajit would be funny

I can already imagine that being a NPC "Fat Cat", easter egg from Oblivions sailor Khajiit :)

Just because you work out doesn't mean you can't be fat. If you get as rich in this game as you got in OB, then eating yourself into a back-frown is certainly possible.

I never said it is impossible. I said it is improbable, and it should be employed with diligence. Thats why I would not make my PC fat, because it makes no sense to me that my PC would be fat given the ciscumstances. The odd overweight rich merchant, imperial aristocrat etc is fine and would add a bit of diversity. If someone likes playing a fat PC for whatever reason, it is certainly not my place to tell them not to, everyone should obviously roleplay their character as they see fit.

Everybody look at the http://gamerant.com/elder-scrolls-5-skyrim-new-screens-cj-65999/ of the tavern.

Is the barkeep fat enough?
I don't really think he is fat enough. My old boss was a lot fatter than this barkeep. I think being fat adds so much personality and flavor to people. It would certainly be good for Skyrim.

wait... there's a barkeep in that pic?

Lol, nobody wants to FORCE you to use a fat character. They just want the option to be there.

I know... Id most definitely like the option. But I wont use it for my PC, thus I answered "no"

IDK if it's in, or to what extent.
However I'd like to change body mass and set how soft or firm my PC can be.
As to fat being new or uncommon in the past, not so much.
Obesity is, but most workmen, warriors and gladiators were not the hollywood toned body types you see on the movies.
Athletes may have had that shape, but most diets and lifestyles would suggest brawn, bulk and some excess fat.

Not on my first playthrough (where I'll probably play a svelte stealthy theif), but if the option's there I will try out a tubby mage at some point.

My first character is going to be a slim and stealthy assassin, but my second character is going to be a fat warrior if it's possible.

And if it's not possible to make a fat character then I'll try to mod it in like I did with Oblivion.

I can't imagine my character being over-weight attempting the 7,000 steps.

Even Kung-Fu Panda could do it. :D

This thread made me imagine a fat Khajiit assassin hiding in the rafters of a building.. Waiting to kill their target.. The rafter beams creaking under their massive weight.. Then.. The target walks beneath them.. The assassin belly flops downward crushing their victim. That's really all I have to say, this thread put that into my mind.. Thanks.. I guess? :P

But to keep things on topic, I have no problem with allowing people to create fat characters. The more customization the better, as I feel people should get to play the way they want.

No, my character is lithe and sixy. But I don't like the options you listed either. I definitely vote yes for having the option to make you character fat like http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Eadwyre of Wayrest (Barenziah's former husband).

Always wanted to RP a Fat cat Khajiit merchant. Having plucked the plunderings of Valenwood, leaving Elwysrewere, and after misfortune and poor business decisions have ended with me freezing my fuzzy *** in Skyrim.

Me too!!!! I wanna see "fat ba$tard" from the Austin Powers film...except wearing a horned helmet and wielding a giant leg of mutton, all the while muttering about "the other kind of white meat" :whistling:

Nope. :) Everyone calls him Hefty-Scale.

What if that victim would be the player? So even if your character is not fat, better watch up in towns if you're hunted by assassins. You can never know when a fat assassin is going to try to belly flop on you with the special "Fat crush" perk. :D

Although they've said that there is greater customization of the character this time, I have my doubts about anything but uniform body sizes. They've kept body sizes relatively similar in the past due to armor fit issues.

That would bring up the idea of never fighting a fat mob or npc when they are up hill from you.. Wouldn't want them rolling down and crushing you. :)

No, my character won't be fat... at least not my first one, but I'd like to be able to make a fat character if I ever feel like doing it. I hope there will be fat NPCs in the game.

I feel the urge to play extremely fat stealth character. Or maybe stealth + magic, Nightblade style. Not an archer, that's not silly.

Give me my fat ninja.
