Benevolent leader, who here bothered to get the acheivement?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 2:44 am

Was wondering who jump through the hoops to get the Benevolent leader acheivement, or better yet got all acheievements. Steam is showing only 0.5% of people with that one, and that makes sense as from the guides I've seen you have to do some pretty silly things to get it. Was just wondering who here got the acheivement, and what you think of it.

I think you need 100% happiness in a settlement. I can't seem to get above 85% though.

If I remember right you need a clinic for each person to work well most of them as some have to grow food. That will help push happiness to 100. Should be in one of the larger settlements too. Like Sanc

I was trying. Spent thousands of caps and too many hours in Sanctuary Hills, focused solely on it, never getting above 87%. And then Greygarden rose to 100% and popped the achievement after I had given up on the whole thing and gone walkabout.

Never spent any resources or significant time in Graygarden, yet it went up to 100 all on its own. Just weird.

I've found that bars and places to sit down are also helpful. Still can't get it above the high 80s and have just given up.

Got it once.

Never again.

Took me 7 real-time hours to get it. 30 minutes were actually building what I needed and moving settlers to the settlement I used (Red Rocket Truck Stop) up to 20 settlers.

Then 6:30 hours of sitting on a bench, waiting 24 hours, standing up, checking Happiness, sitting back down, repeat. Even with 16 settlers working tier 3 shops to raise Happiness as quickly as it can go, past 85 Happiness it takes forever.

If you want to do it, the Fallout Wiki has a guide to get it, worked for me. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Benevolent_Leader

But it's a pain in the ass to get.

Honestly, do not think I will, personally. Why? Can't really be bothered with messing with the settlements that much. Prefer to possibly add some defense and other necessities, then leave them alone unless the defend thing pops up.

I did it just to get the achievement basically, had like 14 clinics and spent like, 6-7 hours waiting around in sanctuary (which was fine, studying for finals anyway).
I don't like it at all though, the first thing I did after getting it was to scrap all the clinics except one, it looks silly, takes up half my settlers and I have no idea if its a bug or not, but only 1 doctor would have enough caps to let me sell stuff, the rest had like 12-18 caps at most.
it doesn't bother me a huge deal, but I would have prefered if it was simpler, like if I could just build nice settlements with supply routes, maybe a nice bar, some decoration and so on, in adition to the basics like food and water and get 100 happiness in every settlement if I wanted to, and kinda use that as an incentive to build nice things instead of just "spend 20k caps on clinics and wait around for a day."

also I found it kinda funny that in a town of 21 people with 14 doctors they still claim "theres not allot of doctors around these days..."

I won't bother with it. My happiness was at 92% then it dropped to 76% for some reason. I might try it with the clinics later on but for now I'll just play without that in mind.

I see this as a bug. NO way any person in their right mind would build 20 clinics in one settlement, there is NO in game purpose to do so. One of the more LAME aspects of the bug ridden Settlement system.

All stores of the same type in one Settlement are linked. So if you run one out of money you run the rest out.

I guess that explains it then, all in all it was just a huge pain in the behind to get it done, if it wasnt for the achievement I probably wouldnt have done it.
