Benny as a Companion

Post » Mon Apr 06, 2009 6:27 pm

I always liked Benny even though he tried to KILL ME. But he seemed pretty cool and swiggin(lol). But anyways i wonder if you would actually would like him to be as a companion if you could have him as one. If you would please tell why you would or would not want him. If you can get past all that stuff with him trying to kill you then that's good.

He doesn't pass the foxhole test: I can't count on him to cover my back in a firefight. He may have some inflated and perverted sense of morality that he displays with his "I look them in the eye" crap, but that's easy to say. You're tied up and he's got the gun. But he throws tha Khans under the bus and schemes behind his associate's backs. I wouldn't trust him to clean dog [censored] out of my yard and I sure as hell won't trust him to cover his side of the fighting hole.

I would recruit him, lead him to the nearest cliff, and knock him off the cliff with a Super Sledge then switch to a Gauss Rifle, disassemble his body while it's falling, switch to a Missile Launcher, and explode the parts into oblivion.

There you go: Benny Meat for the Coyotes down below.

Everytime you open his inventory or start dialogue, "Yeah I'm sorry I shot you in the head."

I don't give people 2 chances. Learned through years of experience that a tiger's stripes are always black, and that tiger has shown his stripes.

Nope.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
There will not be a third.

Edit: Benny didn't do jack but roll in the bottlecaps. Swank is the one who runs the Tops day to day. Benny basically made the yes or no decisions on the big things.

Nope, Swank is the guy at the counter and to the left next the greeter.

Perfectly trust him? Did you completely forget his shooting you twice in the head? Did you forget agreeing to work with him has a very nice reward, the reward being men in suits with guns and bullets. Face it, Benny is a rat. Pre-Release I figured Benny might be a cool cat, but honestly, he's a [censored] with a nice suit.

It would be fun to have him as a companion if there was mutual trust. I usually
Spoiler
gun my way into the fort, kill all but one guard, untie em and we take out the last guard. When he says Ring a Ding Ding baby! It's actually inspiring

He reminds me a bit of zevran from dragon age origins, GREAT guy if you earn his trust but if there's still a gap of trust near the end he betrays you.

It would actually funny if he runaway when ever a fight breaks out, then comeback and shoot the corpses when you are done.
