Benor from Morthol was recently one of my followers. I gave him a nice enchanted ebony bow along with matching enchanted ebony armor and huge enchanted two0handed glass sword. I dismissed him when I got to the college as I was going to hook up with a fellow mage. I was not there long, no lollygagging. On leaving the college, a courier runs up with a note telling me that Benor died and left me 300 gold. Of course the Jarl skimmed off 10%. All I can say is that he died pretty quickly and was buried in record time. Thing go down quickly in Skyrim sometimes!

Well I hope he served you well, RIP Benor.

And when Sovengarde beckons everyone of us dies May he rest in peace.

He died saving my life from Movarth the Vampire. RIP

Benor liked the way I brawled with him and followed me for a few adventures. He was hanging out in Morthol when we met. I did have to kill an ancient dragon when I walked out of the door at the college. So I guess I was able to avenge his quick death.
