First some Character Background. Bereg was a member of clan Arkngthand, who experimented often with Magicks, and openly opposed the Tonal Architect. His experimentations endangered the Clan and Stronghold, and his occasional associations with the Local Chimer were more often than not seen as treasonous. As punishment for his crimes, he was exiled and branded an outlaw, and by use of the Calling, he was made known as such. Having nowhere to go, and no safety, he eventually decided to explore the Outer Realms. It was during this time, while he was outside of time, that the Dwermer disappeared.

Please note that this Journal contains OBLIVION SPOILERS, as it Details my play through with this characters, and his interpretations of the events he participates in.

At long last, my exile has ended, and I was permitted to return to my people. I found the aincent home of my clan in ruins and infested with bandits. I slew them all out of hand, and activated the calling in order to find out what has happened. I only found one voice...and his connection was weak, nearly broken. I found that my people had vanished, perhaps even ascened as the Tonal Architect had planned. But I, and he, in our exiles, were not contacted, and not carried. Yagrum told me much of what has transpired in our lands, and also told me it was no place for a dwermer these days. So I headed east, across the Sea of Ghosts, across the Velothi Mountains, and from the pass I spied a most unusual looking settlement.

I was greeted as an Altmer, and when I corrected the mistake, I was given a funny look by the Dunmer Guard. As I had no coin of the realm, I asked where work could be found. He suggested the Arena, and the Fighters guild. As I did not want to tie myself down, I set out for the Imperial City, and the Arena there. On the road from Cheydinal to the Imperial City, I encountered what appeared to be an abandoned farming town. However, my Heart-Tone Harmonizer alerted me to the presence of life, and a Detect life spell revealed the magical presence of people there as well. I certainly had to Investigate this strange occurance. I had not such problems since I left the Libraries of Mora during my exile. During my exploration, I was spoken to by a member of this town, which I learned is called Aleswell. The poor people here were cursed with a sort of persisting invisiblity. I was asked if I could Aid them, and natraully I did, after attempting to dispell the magic myself. A lone Dwermer must make friends where he can in a strange time and a strange land. I cannot belive my Exile was so long! Three Era's!
Heading down to the Ruined fortress as I was asked, I was attacked by what turned out to be rats. Upon death the spell lifted. Simply destroying the sorceror that cast the spell would be ineffective, as it appears to be anchored with the target. I have nothing to bargain with. This may be more difficult that I had first expected. I encountered the Wizard, but only with the aid of a detect life spell and his rather unhospitable manners. I discussed his spell with him and it's side effect on the town, apparently unintended. He was rather kind, and was more than willing to help a fellow mage. I am glad he was more courteus than I first expected, and did not question my unfamiliarity with Illusion magics After he prepared the scroll and instructed me on the best place to stand in town to maxiize it's effects, I made my way up the hill. I also spied from his tower a footbridge across the lake, so I will not need to go the long way around to the Imperial City. I cast the scroll, and it worked almost exactly as described. It also seemed to cast a different effect on myself. I don't feel any different, and my magicka reserves are at full. I must assume it was a curse of some sort. I will need to speak with Ancotar about this, or find a way to reverse the effects myself. I returned to the Inn and was approached by a young dunmer, who thanked me, and offered to let me make a room in his Inn my home. I was quite thankful for having a place to stay. None of them are fond of the Sorceror, especially the women in town. He seemed to have no care for my plight. While he was kind, he knowingly cursed me, and was unwilling to help. While he was helpful to his neighbors, his coldness to my own suffering at his hands forced me to kill him. An Alchemist and Illusionist, he stood no chance against my magics. I found his research interesting, and held onto it, even if it did not contain any notes on reversing the drawbacks of his counterspell. He also housed renegade conjurers in his home. I did not intend harm, but I was forced to defend myself. I cleared the place of that cult of Deadra summoners, my curse made it's purpose clear. I seem to be expending more energy casting, and I handle my hammer clumsily. Fate is against me. I must seek to lift this curse!
I crossed to the City-Isle by early afternoon, and there I encountered a Shrine to someone Named Julianos. I decided to activate the magics I sensed there, and I discovered not only was my curse lifted, but my magicks were fortified. Not a terrible end to my first day in Cyrodil. It seems my slaying of Ancotar was a crime, though who reported it, I do not know. Before I even set foot in the grand city, I was apprehended and brought to the Prisons to serve a sentance for murder. It feels strange to be stripped of my Trusty old armor that I have born for so long. I hope they do not damage it. The devices built into it, while not delicate, are very precise.

My time in prison was uneventful, but the boredom and inability to practice my skills I fear has caused them to lapse. IT was fortuneatly short. My strange accent, and clear ignorance of the laws here bought me some compassion with a judge, and I was relased early. I am fortunate, as I faced death. It was well that my disovery beneath Anctoars tower, and testimony from my friends in Aleswell aided me in this, with my belongings restored to me, untampered with, and a thank you from the garrison commander for my work eliminating the coven that threatened the town. I am still broke, but I am close to the Arena, and I will be prepared to compete after spending time ensuring my skills have not lapsed dangerously. After pawning off what I took from the COnjurers, I had some coin, which I spent perusing the city's selection of spells, and on the potions I need to make up for my lack of Restoration Magicks. Then it is off to the Arena to train and compete.
During the Night, I was approached by a Robed and hooded figure, who offered me a formal invite to a group of assasinations. I agreed to nothing, though I doubt I will be pursuing them, as I prefer the honor of direct combat.

The Arena Blademaster was not pleased I had come looking to compete, but he did offer for me to do so. He also expressed some doubt in the combat abilities of an Altmer, and some curiosity at my equipment. I am afraid my pay will be given grudginly, unless of course, I put on a great show.

interesting. i like. i found some errors in grammar and sentence structure (but im not one to talk xD). great job :D

Thanks! I've never been a great grammar person. I like doing journals like this because I can focus more on the personality of my characters.
