best ability for legendary weapons?

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 11:14 am

what is it? ^^

"Bullets explode on impact doing 15 points area-of-effect damage."

"Does double damage if the target is at full health."

"Does 50 points additional radiation damage."

"Fires an additional projectile. Decrease in accuracy." (-does this one use twice as much ammo?)

I have a maxed Combat Shotgun with Exploding ability, and .45 Overseer Guardian (Combat Rifle) with Two Shoot.

Tested it on a Raider General in Survival, died in 5-6 shoots from Exploding Combat Shotgun, very fast considering Combat Shotgun shoot speed, add gory as a bonus.

Next I reload tried it with maxed .45 Overseer Guardian (Combat Rifle) with Two Shoot, 1 bullet crit shoot to the head (with VATS), the head explode.

Well whatever fits your play style.

I have the exploding ability on my submachine .45 gun and it seems to be pretty good, because you fire way more rounds than you do with a normal rifle

Explosive, Irradiated, Freezing, or Plasma Infused for Minigun, Shotgun, Automatic Beam Splitter Laser Rifle since I think each bullet has the bonus and Two Shot for Sniper Rifle, Gauss Rifle, Missile Launcher, and Fat Man.

With lvl 29 on Survival I still did not found any of these legendary weapons, so I can judge only from theory but the two-shot variant would be my favorite by far.

I have to admit that I find most of the legendary effects a little OTT for my tastes, especially for ballistic weaponry. I can see things like double-shot working on an energy weapon at least. If I find a good legendary that makes sense I'll use it, otherwise I'll stick with modifying my own stock weapons.

Depends on the weapons.

Bleed is the best for shotguns/automatics.

Instigating is the best for snipers.

First off, Two Shot anything is gold. I'd say treat it like your own child, but we see how that went the first time, so....

In all seriousness, though, Two Shot is really, really good.

Any blanket damage increase is also nice, as a damage increase that's always active is always good.

Damage versus a particular enemy type is situational. If you're facing that enemy type, it's great, but if you're not facing that enemy type, it's crap.

Full Auto weapons are interesting, as they have more excellent options. Elemental damage and bleeding damage are amazing, because while the legendary affix doesn't deal much damage in and of itself, the RoF more than makes up for it.

Short answer? Depends on the weapon and the affix.

I personally favour the 'lucky' guns - I'm geared up for VATS based rifle combat so any additional critical hits are welcomed.

Two shot gauss is the only variant where it becomes very inaccurate at range. The one I use just has a red dot and I only use close up. 2 shot sniper may suffer from the same issue but it's hard to notice the bullet trails. 2 shot combat rifle and explosive combat shotgun are the most powerful mid range weapons I've got.

Yeah the Legendary Abilities are so out of Balance and it svcks that it's so much RNG. Wasted 2 Hours Savegame Reloading and didn't got an Explosive Minigun.....
Also Armor Abiltities can be awesome because I think they are cumulative.

I find that so long as the weapon is scoped, you can still handle shots out to 200 range with two shot.

Besides, as you start getting any farther out than that the damage for all guns drop by a lot anyways.

I want to find an "explosive" rocket launcher, just for the lulz.

Also curious what the laser musket would be like with 2-shot. 6 crank = 12 crank? :o

I admit, I want to see a minigun with the fire an additional projectile. It sounds like it'd actually be worth using, without being overpowered.

"Does double damage if the target is at full health " Is ridiculously OP when you have a sneak character. I had it drop on a sniper rifle, added a suppressor, nothing was safe.

Shoot an additional projectile is practically double damage. I think this has the most dps of what you listed.

My favorite 2 guns are like that: an overpowered shotgun (219 damage) and the overseer's guardian (only 131) with 'rifleman 3' and 'gun nut 3' at lvl 25. Imagine 1 shot in sneak and critical damage - just like a mininuke, if not more.

Why are you people all getting these great legendary drops? Unless I buy the weapons all I seem to find is the Ghoul-Slayers Rolling Pin!

Lol I'm lv 36 now and have lot's of nice legendary weapon.

You should try survival at least 1 place give you 1 legendary, often more up to more than five for big place.

In survival you much open to choose Legendary weapons.

But, I still using Two Shot Overseer's Guardian. Because it always 1 crit shot to the head to standard Legendaries. I can stock up to 3 crit, and it recharge easily with 7+2 luck. Just OP.
