Best advice you ever got from M'aiq?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:31 am

I like "I do not wish to fight on horseback. It is a good way to ruin a perfectly good horse... which is, to say, a perfectly good dinner."

Then in this oneM'aiq makes fun of Fable: "People always enjoy a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day."

Then this one is funny "Werewolves? Where? Wolves? Men that are wolves? Many wolves. Everywhere. Many men. That is enough for M'aiq."

What do you think? What's the best advice M'aiq ever gave you?

"M'aiq has heard that the people of Skyrim are better looking than the ones in Cyrodiil. He has no opinion on the matter. All people are beautiful to him."

Because every old woman looks like twenty.^^

"You wish to become a lich? It's very easy, my friend. Simply find the heart of a lich, combine it with the tongue of a dragon,
and cook it with the flesh of a well-ridden horse. This combination is certain to make you undead."

"I have only met one wereshark, but he was afraid of the water."

"M'aiq longs for a Colovian Fur Helm. Practical, yet stylish. M'aiq is very sad he does not have one."

Advice? no. Interesting? yes. M'aiq the Liar is like the rubik's cube of the Elder Scrolls universe, he's so puzzling yet still intriguing.

Ma'iq taught me that, not only does Bethesda not care what you want, they will actively mock you as well.

Too cynical? :P

If all Mai'iq was doing was mocking, then we wouldn't have werewolf in Skyrim. It's always about what they finished putting in the game before the release. Comment on better looking people is also something that they improved based on people's demands.
Just because Ma'iq mock your personal wants doesn't mean he's a bad person.

Since this is here, it has to be: "M'aiq wishes he had a stick made out of fishies to give to you. Sadly, he does not."

On the Mystery of the Dwarves:
There is no mystery. M'Aiq knows all. The dwarves were here, and now they are not! They were very short folks...or perhaps they were not. It all depends on your perspective. I'm sure they thought they were about the right height.

That doesn't make any sense, just because Bethesda added things doesn't mean he isn't mocking and I never said he was a bad person.

Sorry If I offended in any way.
Ma'iq is a character that in a funny way comments on changes and decisions in new TES. Ma'iq said that dragons are invisible, because people wanted to see them and they weren't included until Skyrim.

"there is an island you can reach filled with wonderful, naked, glistening bodies. It only appears when the moons are full, the rain falls, the seas run red, and it's M'Aiq's birthday"

I've been working on this one. I've already modded the seas to turn red and for it to always be raining and a full moon. I just have to determine the island's location, and the date of M'Aiq's birthday.

Way too cynical, and I absolutely despise this mindset. It's throwing aside any sense of humor in order to be irrationally offended.

Well, yes. By his namesake we have to read his statements as lies. So he isn't really saying that fans who want crossbows are idiots, bethesda wanted them too and couldn't do it.

M'aiq was probably never born to begin with. Hence, no birthday. ;-)

Of course, you realize that this is an inherently stupid debate to begin with - the details of M'aiq's existence don't really stack up one way or another because M'aiq is not a "real" character like, say, Ulfric Stormcloak. ;)

As far as I know he can be one of the demi gods from Morrowind's main quest - I've never finished the main quest.
He might not have a strong personality - just a bunch of catchy lines - but he sure has the most dialoque lines for a non quest NPC XD

Ma'iq is more real than any previous player character from TES games - lore is specified on his gender and race, while we don't know if the person that saved the world was like at all.

It's definitely this. It didn't have any voice-sound in oblivion and was so fast you'd have to activate the rumor option at least three times to read that :D

He's not, as far as the rest of the universe is concerned. Really, he's just a joke on the part of the developers. :-)

On Horses:

"You would wish to ride upon a beast? There is a way... Go to one of the many silt-strider ports and pay your fee! You wish one for personal use? Bah! Walk if you must; run if you are chased!"

That last statement makes perfect sense for a non-combative player...
