This is a poll but feel free to discuss as well.

The first question should be a matter of fact, it's not really something we can opine about. Someone can just go count it up and we'd have an answer. But I'm too lazy to do that

The best quests? I liked Oblivion's the best. But there are some real gems in each of the titles.

I have to say that Oblivion's Thieves Guild is one of the best questlines ever. "The Ultimate Heist" was precisely planned out and it shows. Best TES quest IMO.

Yes, Shivering quests were absolutely epic. However, tribunal did good too. Dawnguard made me puke.

The first question isn't really a matter of opinion its more statistics so I'd say that Morrowind has the most. For game with best quests I would say Oblivion as they are so much fun.

The question should ask about "unique quests," IMO. Skyrim definitely has the most due to the radiant quests or whatever they're called. Those are kind of repetitive, but most RPG quests are different flavors of the same courier type quests anyway.

The assassinations, sneaking, theft, and other rogue type quests are definitely getting better each game. Being a thief in Oblivion is much more fun than being a thief in Morrowind.

Most quests? Morrowind, surely.

Best quests? I say oblivion. Shivering isles had a nice questline, and then there was the one where you jumped into the painting. I wasn't a fan of skyrim's sidequests, not sure why. As for morrowind's sidequests... meh, I still thought oblivion was better.

Morrowind wins in both categories. I'd also give Morrowind points for having as much diversity in quests as it does.

I voted Morrowind for both.

While I think that you could technically claim that Daggerfall and Skyrim, with their randomly generated quests, technically have more quests than Morrowind or Oblivion, I don't count these. The satisfaction generated by a 'radiant quest' with only the faintest amount of backstory, compared to a normal quest just doesn't really compare.

In terms of quality, I liked Morrowind's quests because they had a good mix of mundane and important. Plus, I felt like the guilds were so much bigger and more realistic and as someone who uses a Guild to drive a great deal of his character development, understandably, I find Skyrim's guilds lacking in all facets while Oblivion simply doesn't have enough of them. My biggest core complaint with the newer TES games is I wish they would break the horrid formula of 'Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild, Thieves Guild, Assassins Guild', which is boring and too generalized. There needs to be at least three times as many factions, with 2-3x the length of Skyrim's guilds in the next TES for me to be happy.

I also believe that Morrowind, by the simple fact that it uses text instead of voiced dialogue, has more to say about each Quest. If you're someone who enjoys fluff and backstory above the simple satisfaction of being provided with a place to go to kill people, I think that it's hard to argue that Morrowind isn't superior.

For me, most of the series' most memorable quests were in Oblivion. Quests like A Brush With Death, A Shadow Over Hackdirt, Unfriendly Competition, and An Unexpected Voyage are the quests that stand out in my mind when I think about some of the great quests in the series.

I don't have the numbers in front of me... I think Daggerfall has the most, even before factoring in the radiant nature of them, but that might be my poor memory talking (and that's including the official quest pack downloads, of course).

As for the best? Yeek, tough choice... Daggerfall and Skyrim kind of tie for best main questline for me, Morrowind had interesting wilderness quests to stumble on (though Skyrim's got that too), Oblivion had the best guild questlines (Morrowind's not far behind there)... Skyrim's seem to be the most thematic to me overall, though, so that serves as the tiebreaker amongst all that and gives the crown to it. They're all really good, though. Well, except maybe Arena, that one tended to fall a bit flat overall and the main quest is REALLY repetitive.

EDIT: As for "most original"? That's a lot harder to pick, and, let's face it, none of the main questlines are all that original. Arena's the least original, easily, and Morrowind's probably the most, followed by Daggerfall. I tend not to put all my stock in originality, though, so that's not a huge factor for me.

For sheer numbers, Daggerfall hands down.

In terms of quality, I would say Skyrim. It had the best mix, I think, of mundane quests like retrieving an heirloom from a cave and set-piece quests like Blood on the Ice, Ill Met by Moonlight, and The Blessings of Nature.

For what Oblivion lacked in world design and art direction, it made up for in quests. I enjoyed all of the questlines in Oblivion more than Skyrim. Shivering Isles and KotN also had some excellent ones.

Morrowind was hampered by it's engine. In terms of story, Morrowind's main quest is lightyears ahead of Oblivion or Skyrim, but it's ugly in execution. Morrowind's factions avoided large arcing questlines. Rarely were more than a few quests connected.

Skyrim has the most quests - Daggerfall could possibly have more, but as I haven't played it I'll have to go with Skyrim. Even the simplest radiant quest can have a big meaning to a character, and I'd kill to have some radiant quests available in the Imperial City in Oblivion.

Oblivion has the best quests, IMO. A Shadow over Hackdirt, Whodunnit?, Canvas the Castle, and so on. Both Skyrim and Morrowind also have some wonderful quests, but Oblivion has them by the bucketload. But this is also a bad thing - while the quests Oblivion has are excellent, there's far too few of them.

Yeah, this. I don't remember Morrowind's quest ever being that fun or different. Oblivion was very creative.

Oblivion had the best quests for me. Especially the guild quests and the deadric quests. The quest where you make a town believe its the end of the world and the one where you build a town are awesome. I also loved the quest where you wrecked the dinner party and whodunnit?. Whodunnit is one of my favorite quests in the whole franchise. Morrowind and Skyrim had equally great/bad quests for me.

I can't speak on behalf of Daggerfall. 'Cause I haven't played it. I have played the other ones.

Radiant quests make the Skyrim have more quests. All those bounty gathering and whispers of power make it technically so. Although, Oblivion and Morrowind seemed to have more non-radiant quests.

Morrowind could have the best quests, but the gameplay mechanics just didn't quite make it happen. I loved the great house questlines and those of the expansion packs. I am person for mechanics, so I find it difficult to find quests good if the quests have no real outcomes other than quest givers more blue bar during future encounters. I think that this is the place for developers to expand upon. Let them make that radiant AI too smart again like during the development stages of oblivion. Let them have two sides to every quests that can't both can't happen at the same time. Skyrim is closer to these things than others, so my both votes went for Skyrim.

I really enjoyed the forsworn conspiracy quest. The rest of the quests in all of the games are pretty lackluster, especially regarding any sort of choice being integrated.

Skyrim obviously has the most quests. Morrowind wins on best quests. There are great quests in Skyrim too, but Morrowind comes out on top due to better writers and better faction quests.
