Whenever my Skyrim decides to work post 1.2, I was hoping on increasing my characters archery skills. I'm somewhere around 60 as a Wood Elf and I was wondering what are the best types of Apparel for Archers and what increases the Archery skill the best?

I use Archery quite a lot, mostly for sneak attacks. I use the Nightingale armor minus the hood. I have a crown of peerless archery or something like that which increases my damage to 30 and a Ring of Peerless archery which is 30 too. (Course I could be a little off on those numbers).

Mine is 96. I use the long bow (weakest bow) just for kick. The perks I have make sure nothing get's close to me. I quite enjoy being a ranger.

Basically, just stack +%bow damage gear and perk your smithing so you can improve your bows.

My Archer only has about +40% damage on gear [Ancient Dark Brotherhood Cowl + random ring] but I've smithed my daedric bow to 160 damage per shot. Throw in the 3x sneak bonus and forget it, most things die before they can figure out where I am.

I wear the Krosis mask which is Boss with my Nightingale armor and Nightingale bow and boots. I have DB gloves for 2X backstab

I have apparel that gives me 21% +20% +20% bow dmg on top of the sneak attk. I can kill 99.9% of NPCs in one hit with a glass or higher arrow.

best apparel for an archer is the "fine hat"

a good sneak archer doesn't get hit, but a nice hat blocks that damned sun from getting in yer eyes.

Does 2x backstab effect bow damage? I figured that was some weird sort of animated dagger move that you sometimes proc on an attack.
