Best body/face texture for RMB and HGEC?

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:30 pm

I'm currently using F-IN evOblivion Skinset for HGEC. The textures work well for females, but the face textures don't exactly work to well with Robert's Male Body (obvious neck seams). Additionally, I'm using AMB - All Male Bodies, which brings its own set of male textures.

What combination of face/body textures work best with both males and females, and produces the least noticeable neck seams (specifically, for HGEC and Robert's Male Body)? Any ideas? (Luchaire's Body Seam Reducer doesn't seem to help much...)

This is an example of the neck seam I get for males using the AMB male textures and the F-IN evOblivion Skinset face textures:

(For safety, please remove links from body replacer/texture replacer. They're considered as 'advlt' mod)
One problem is, all males and females from same race will share same facial texture.(If you install male body texture pack and there's face texture included, the face texture will overwrite already installed face texture) So I don't think there's satisfying solution unless an author makes complete texture pack of all possible body replacers. However, even with matching face/body textures, neck seam is not avoidable.

- If you installed F-Inev Oblivion skinset for HGEC, then install AlienSlof's Better Bodies RMF(you have to install male body textures only), face textures of the latter may overwrite the former, causing noticable neck seam on female actors.

I know this. Just wondering which face texture best matches both genders when using HGEC and RMB. Thanks for your response though. Right now, I'm using the AMB textures for males, F-IN textures for females, and the F-IN face textures for both genders. The neck line isn't too bad on females, but as you can see in the linked image, the males don't turn out as well...

The best solution for RM /HGEC I have found is Luchaires TGND (which will use HGEC or any exnem based textures - TGND is just meshes plus all stock armour and clothing, you provide the texture of choice, so Exnem/HGEC/F-Inev/Ozmo/EVE .... all good.) - Neck seam gone.

Problem - Though there are quite a few extra Armour/clothing converts in addition to the stock (Shell of the Artifice for instance), since launch it has not been taken up by many other modders to expand it, and also the small wrists of the body leave you incompatible with everything else HGEC (in my case the family wanted The Goddess Store back to so had to switch again) - I think Luchaire kind of gave up after a while, for version 1 of TGND there were a fair few other conversions which have not since been updated for version 2 of TGND, so from the list in her description only about half of those are v2 compatible.

Right now we are using RM v5 with average body and average stock armour/clothing for the same.

EVE for female, and the stock armour clothing, on the desktop we have that with Ozmo's female textures.

And the key I found recently to near perfect seam hiding is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35487

Without TGND its the closest I have come to finding the perfect RM / HGEC no-neck seam or tonal differences setup for all races ( with the exception of beasts which I have a bit of a frankenstein monster of combining Bain installers to sort out :) ) - Wrye bash helps a lot with these combination conflicts and deducing exactly what textures are in your game.

Edit: Heres a few screenshots in one - this on the laptop with only medium texture setting in game, no anti-aliasing and using hgec/eve with O.F.F, so not brilliant settings to show this but as you can see even with poor graphic settings its pretty good .. http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1429328ScreenShot54.jpg - still slightly evident, but on the desktop with ozmo textures completely gone. Thrown an elf male in there too

Thanks a lot for your response. I tried out the mod you linked to but found it didn't help much. it also seemed to give some males a really feminine look... As for TGND, the lack of support will likely keep me away from that mod. Thanks for your help though. I figure I'll just have to continue messing around with combinations until I find a combo of textures that produces the least amount of seams for both genders. It really is a pain and really annoying. Currently I'm using these body mods to produce the best textures/meshes for all of the races, installed in the order listed (This install order took a long time to figure out...).

HGEC Better Bouncing Boobs Hcup Ecup Dcup
BBB for HGEC Body Replacer Underwear
HGEC Robert Feet
EVE HGEC Stock Replacer
BBB for EVE HGEC Stock Replacer
HGEC Body v1.21 Khajiit Textures Only
Exlorian's Khajiit Tail for HGEC
Improved Argonian Facial Textures
Argonian Beautification Exnem v2.8 Textures
Improved Facial Textures
AMB - All Male Bodies \ this replaces IFT face textures
Argonian Beautification Robert v3.0 Textures

F-IN evOblivion Skinset for HGEC \ here is where I would install the final face texture to best match both genders and replace AMB face textures
(or Nec's Textures)
(or Ozmo's Textures)

Luchaire's HGEC Body Seam Reducer
Better Redguards

No problem. That setup will have most of your characters and other NPCs looking real good (it also has no nudity as I use the underwear versions). The only problem is the neck seam. It might look good for one gender, but not the other, depending on the face texture used. I've tested all of these files out ingame and they're way better than whatever vanilla offers. Now if I could just fix the neck seam! Or at least make it less noticeable.

There is a neck seam concealer (it puts an amulet around the neck). I have yet to try it. Search on nexus for concealer and it will show you the three options. I am going to try this one http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34082

Is there any way to remove the makeup from navetsea's F-IN evOblivion Skinset face textures? It seems its the makeup that causes color discoloration for males... How would I go about doing this? If it wasn't for the makeup, these textures wouldn't look too bad on RMB body textures... (considering one is using F-IN evOblivion Skinset body textures of course)
