Best build for heavy armour+2H melee Templar?

Post » Wed Mar 05, 2014 1:56 am

So, having been told many times that the mobs are not unbalanced at all and I'm simply useless at making my characters, I'd want to ask, what is considered the best build for a Heavy armour+2-handed (nord) Templar, mostly focused on Melee+self-healing, in terms of the best active/passive effects to go for (particualrly With thought of easy survival against bosses like Doshia)?

After testing this for myself, yes i agree...to an extent. But i made several tank builds on nords, khajiit and altmers using heavy armour with huge success to level 16.

I do not like spending points or using a lot of magicka, even with tank or dps builds.

What i would recommend is:

Nord - Two Handed Bonus - Resist Frost (stamina protection) - Robust (Health regen) - Medium Armor (For Stamina Regeneration) - Focus heavily in two handed weapon skill points - Templar you go for restoring light for healing you'rself and MAYBE Dawn's Wrath for debuffing the enemy.

Second Choice:

Khajiit - Medium Armour Bonus - Robus Bonus (Health Regen) - Avoid the one racial skill for detection - and basically copy and past above for stats.

I tried going for dragon knight and only focusing into the draconic Power (focus into skipe armour, inhale and dragon blood to resist spells/physical damage etc). Worked VERY nice.

not a imperial..so nothing i care about... first off how will you maintain such a build? how will you support your build.. you need points in crafting.. you need points in race/class... you need points armor... you need points in vampier/dog.. you need points in guilds.. you need point in other.. sorry it will take months to build it for what your really after... then to maintain that status amongst others that are leveling up...

I'm still a little fuzzy as to why Heavy Armor isn't viable. Are we really going to be forced to use medium or light? What's up with this.

Yeah, I'm a bit baffled about that too. Especially since on the character menu, the default style for the Templar is just Heavy armour With a 2-handed weapon.... of course, according to the intelligentsia here that is probably just for show and means nothing, but still...

there is no right build... i've seen the silly youtube videos.. you can out armor them in same time frame by smithing and armor skill... still you will be caught in a guild op and be killed.. one person will drain you of power.. some will poison you.. some will knock out your armor.. some will set you on fire... you can't beat the system.. its all about team set up.. if you don't got a team.. you don't have a set up? if your just solo PvE then never pvp.. you'll be killed.. this is not skyrim.. this is more like eve online..

Seems to me that the only real advantage Medium has over Heavy is the attack speed. Stealth in ESO is just gimmicky and isn't as you find it in Skyrim, I'd take health regen over Stamina regen because I have an ability which already kicks that passive's behind, sprint speed it nothing and I've found you don't actually have to roll dodge, you just move out of the AoE before it's cast, and heavy armor gives more block which is also incorporated into my build, so what's your point. No more of this vague crap you've been doing.

12% crit from full medium can come in handy, and the stamina regen is quite noticeable.

But you can be effective in heavy armor since the mobs aren't threat related (not as much), meaning that going 2h or dual in heavy armor can be effective to off tank while dealing damage.

Also you can always mix armor type and take advantage of both trees.

There is however a passive in heavy armor that increases melee damage, so it's not all lost if you go full heavy.

This is my build for my 2handed Imperial Templar:

5 Piece light armor 3 piece Heavy Armor.

Light for the reduced spell cost, increased mana regen, increased spell resistance , 5% increase crit chance to spells, and for spells ignoring a players spell resistance

Heavy for increased armor /spell resistance , increased hp regen, increased melee power, blocking cost reduction, and heals healing for more on myself.

As with medium you'd only be gaining increased physical crit chance , increased stamina regen, sneak, melee attack speed, and move speed with a reduction in dodge/roll stamina cost.

And with Restoring aura in the Templar's arsenal which increase hp and stamina regen by 15% medium really only provides melee crit chance.

I was thinking of going with a mix of all the armour sorts, at least while leveling, if for nothing else at least for keeping my options open for endgame.

The single player pve content can more or less be completed with almost any combination of skills and armour, I found that a good pvp build will often also be the most potent pve build.

There is not right or wrong build of a character!!! How hard is this to understand ??

If you are a guy that want′s to max everything then do find more info about 1% from this race to 2% from that enchant and all that stuff ( that I find total waste of time)

Otherwise just decide what YOU want to play! After that just find what is it that you need to make this character.

Many people let previous Bethesda games builds affect their mind and opinions. To me there is only to things I have to decide and that is race and then class. After that there is NO rules and no one can tell me different. You can be nightblade healer and sorcerer tank....

Don′t let others tell you what to do!!
