best character possible?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:15 pm

I was recently experimenting with characters and i have found what i belive to be the perfect character for me and most likely some other people

SPECIAL (average)
S:3 - raised later on by perks
P:5 - ED-E raises this
E:3 - good armour
C:7 - companions nerve is raised
I:10 - more skill points
A:4 - just for reloading
L:10 - critical hits (they are essential with this build)

Skills (roughly)

high energy weps, lockpick, science, barter & survival
everything else raised slowly but not guns or melee

traits- early riser and wild wasteland

perks (the most important)

meltdown
finesse
tribal wisdom (H-H)
cannibal
vig, recycle
nuka chemist
toughness

the reason this works so well is because when using an energy weapon with meltdown the enemy explodes when a crit hit is made or usually when they die aswell.
with 10 out of 10 luck and finesse you have the luck of 15 which lets you practicly get meltdown every time you kill someone. I would recomend using the holorifle or the YCS

please comment and put down your fav character builds!

Well, I don't think there can really be a "perfect" build in a Role-Playing Game because different people have different characters. I know of some people who barely use combat skills at all, instead relying on speech, sneak, and barter to get through the game.

Here is one of my favorite builds:

S - 5
P - 6
E - 6
C - 3
I - 7
A - 5
L - 8

Tag Skills: Guns, Survival, Explosives

Other high skills: Speech, sneak, Barter, Lockpicking

I would mainly use revolvers and lever action rifles with this character, particularly Lucky and a scoped Trail Carbine. Early on I would wear Desert Ranger armor or a bounty hunter duster, but after Lonesome Road I would use the courier duster. I also wore either Daniel's hat and lucky shades or a slave scarf and rebreather.

This was kind of a survivalist build, and also a crit-based build rather than focusing on high damage.

S - 3
P - 5
E - 9
C - 1
I - 4
A - 9
L - 9

That's what I'd do if I was aiming for "the best," anyways. Though honestly Perception would be 1 if it weren't for Better Criticals.

definitely a Guns/Energy Weapons Build with a slight chance for pure unarmed. Not sure if any of the melee/unarmed perks require a Str. Requirement.

A:4 - just for reloading
What does this mean exactly?

This seems like power-gaming, and in previous FO's would result in missed opportunities if adhered to; FO3 not so much, but I would hope its at least somewhat true of NV.

I do not ascribe to 'repeat character' builds, and so do not have a preference myself. High luck is good if you want to play a lucky character, not so good if you want to play an unlucky one; Of course... this applies to every stat in the game, in its own way.

The easiest way to play fallout is to be a sneaky sniper so this is what i would pick but whats ideal to one might be awfull to another

SPECIAL

S:6(if u wanna scavenge like me; also with that perk that decreases the strength requirements for weapons you can handle an AMR with ease)
P:5(better criticals)
E:6(ull be sneaking for the most part but from times to times ull get caught)
C:1(Companions are pack brahmins on my playthroughs)
I:10(more skill points)
A:4(reload speed)
L:8(its a crit hit based character after all)

TAGGED SKILLS

Speech;Sneak;Guns
Speech for outside of combat cuz with lanius(for exemple), sneaking wont be possible also u can go through the whole game withou firing a weapon
A high sneak, silent running and a supresed sniper rifle is all you need in the wastes
High guns skills to take full adventage of the sniper rifle

S - 7(use the implant to raise to 8 so with Weapon Handling I have the Strength requirement for every single weapon)
P - 6(Four Eyes with Lucky Shades, a hat and the implant bring this up to 10)
E - 5(with the implant I can get the Strong Back and Burden to Bear perks)
C - 5(I don't raise it, but I don't like leaving any of my SPECIAL too low)
I - 6(raise it up one or two times with Intense Training)
A - 4(with the implant and Intense Training I can get most of the VATS perks)
L - 7(raising it higher from the start is unnecessary since with my last implant, Naughty Nightwear and Lucky Shades gives a solid 10)

This pretty much is an epic build.
P becomes 6 with implant
C isn't much but 2 is better then 1
I gets 6, so more points for you
A turns to 5, so a decent Agility (doesn't matter though if your melee/unarmed)
L turns into a solid 10, and with all the critical chance upgrades, a melee/unarmed character would be kicking the Divide's Deathclaws in seconds.
