Best Combat System ever for PC Bethesda please read

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 7:43 pm

Hello bethesda.

Probably too late, but is there any way to simply create an option within options menu to change the combat style to mouse direction for attacks instead of keyboard/foot movement (might not be able to be used for xbox, ps3 etc but for pc this would make combat amazing!!!!)???? This system has already been implemented into a game called mount & blade, i'm sure somebodies heard of it. It makes combat so much more intense and realistic using the mouse for attack direction. It appears to be pretty straight forward to implement, flicking mouse upward while holding down mouse button then releasing will create a forward/upward direction attack for example instead of physically moving your character forward. I don't know anything about making games however, but believe me... YOUR FANS WILL GO NUTS OVER IT!!!!! It's absolutely amazing playing like this, harder to use but SOO much more fun. Please implement you will make many people happy and it's not that difficult to incorporate, even in an update or something.

Thanks for listening,

Runtyboy.

Was no replies and no views so posted again.

Tis a shame, this would have made the game ultimate.

If no one had any comment the first time, it is safe to assume that it's a topic that the board is not interested in.

I've never played mount/blade but i've seen people play it.

The impression I got from people on here is that those controls would be very awkward in TES type games if there was more than 1 enemy on the screen. As an example if there's 4-5 bandits or wolves on the screen it would be very hard to target properly.

Well i'm still buying the game regardless because it's still gonna be awesome. If this was incorporated at a later date it would make it incredible. Mount & Blade for example is a pretty basic game, but the mouse attack direction system has made me play it religiously for months on end, all my friends love it too because of this combat system.

Sorry, it was not my intention to spam. I am new, won't happen again.

The combat is a little more difficult to use, there are many situations in mount and blade when you are facing armies of enemies but the combat system still works great, it's just a different form of combat. Feels very realistic, and raises the tension levels of combat which is what you want when playing a video game in my opinion of course.

Seriously....what people are thinking giving "GREAT" suggestions when the game is less than a month of going Gold?

Most likely those who know little about it.

I agree - combat similar to Mount & Blade would've been amazing. The game is almost finished though, so it's pointless dwelling on what could have been.

I would say the best combat system I've ever come across is the one used in Severance: Blade of Darkness....was simply addicted to this game, combat system was awesome and it didn't matter if you faced multiple enemies as you could tab your "lock" from one enemy to the next or completely unlock.

But yes, just a tad to late for suggestions like this ;)

Cheers,

Craig
