Agreed 100%. Best single player experience in my 20 year gaming experience. Thanks Beth!
The best computer game ever made will be Doom, we have never ever seen such before, a game for PC on 3.5" disks. We have Deep Blue, the first supercomputer who beat a grandmaster in chess, but nowdays, computers made will be better than DB. We have first car from Ford Automobiles, we have never ever seen that before, but nowdays every car made will be better than the first one. So, the best game ever, depends on the era. That would also be movies, horror movies, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street.... every horror movies made after that would be better quality.

The best game ever hasn't been made yet.
This game is fantastic and oozes with hard work and dedication to the craft! Skyrim still holds the rank of best even with it's age. I feel like I'm playing a big production with FO4 opposed to the feeling of a Masterpiece which I will always see that Skyrim is. But I still
Ok, thanx for correction Doom 1993, Wolfenstein 3D 1992..., but these games from ID Software. I do like Doom better than W 3D, since new weapons like BFG.

Rocket League
but for a single-player game... yeah <3
...sharing the place with Skyrim and GTA V
My all-time favorite is New Vegas but Yeah, this one's pretty damned good. I'm still running across new things, months later.
As much as I love Bethesda's works, they are heavily flawed in a lot of areas. So I wouldn't say they are the best games ever made. They are amazingly great games and definably 8/10-9/10 status but not 10/10...
That would be something more for a game like Undertale or others that has already been mentioned.
Sorry, but Undertale is highly overrated. It's a good game, but I wouldn't rate it anything above a 7.5 out of 10. It's got great writing, but it's linear and there's little replayability to it.
Borderlands 2, anyone? Digistruct Peak and the OP levels brought that game to incredible places
It sure is a great game. It's had my attention for well over 400 hours and I'm still not sick of it. I took a break for a while and played Far Cry 4 and came back when the 1.3 patch was released. It seemed to unlock a lot of things that I never ran across in my previous 350 hours of gameplay.
But when I think about the best game ever made (so far) I keep going back to The Operative: No One Lives Forever series. Here's a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Operative:_No_One_Lives_Forever if interested. I played it on PC. Still have it although it won't install now, too old.
It has 7-9 different Neutral endings. The true good pacifists ending. And the Genocide Ending, ofcourse.
The path itself is linear but not the overall story. There's a lot to the amazing story, backed up by great characters, great music, and so much more...
There's a good amount of replayability and the overall experience is just so amazing and such. I've never had a better experience than with this game, from the feels and overall atmosphere. It's a 10/10 to me and by far the best gaming experience I have ever made.
My only complaint for it is that it's short...
Not the best game of all time for me,
but one of greatest game I ever played that`s for sure.
Main weakness of FO4 = Glitch Glitch Bug Glitch Bug Bug Glitch Bug
I think FO4 can be the best game of all time for me if certain glitches get addressed and all DLCs are applied.
Obviously this is a matter of opinion. With that said I think it would be interesting to mention WHY games are the "BEST" to you the gamer. Skyrim to me was wonderful based on the feeling of adventurous roaming and discovery mixed with "THEE BEST" all around score (and i do mean all around, not just one or two songs). The blending of the music with action and exploration will always leave it at the top for me...that is until Bethesda comes out with another Masterpiece. IF they come out with another...
Fallout 4 feels like it falls short in almost every area of what's incredible about it. I love the game and have the hoodie and all merchandise including the pipboy and xbox controller to prove it. I wish it had the wow factor that Skyrim had in my experience. The best part I enjoyed was walking out the door and seeing the Prydwen flying overhead. Best moment in my opinion. The Nuke going off and all voice recordings witnessing this feel so dramatically starved it makes me shake my head. Missed opportunities for greatness.
I'll still be playing FO4 for a long time and I'm hoping that through update refining and dlc that FO4 might imagine some of it's potential.
Oh wow, there are so many "best games":
But yea Fallout 4 is amazing (even with its issues). Bethesda is at their best, when creating amazingly detailed worlds to explore. However, I also think that they have created some memorable Companions and NPCs this time around.
In no particular order:
Neverwinter Nights 2 - The Mask of the Betrayer
Neverwinter Nights - Hordes of the Underdark
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 1
Oblivion
Dragon Age Inquisition
Deus Ex series
Half Life series
Skyrim
The original Doom!
The Longest Journey
Syberia
etc. etc.
