BEST GRAPHICS

Post » Sun Nov 01, 2009 5:58 pm

Skyrim's graphics are a huge improvement over Oblivion's. (Since the trailer was shot on 360 I'm sure it'll look a bit better on PC)
Sure games like Red Dead have great graphics but you also have to consider red dead redemption's game world is hardly 1/2 of the size of Cyrodiil.
I play on 360 and honestly in my opinion Oblivion still has great graphics (considering it was released in early 2006),and Skyrim looks fantastic too.

Skyrim pre beta already looks better than RDR.

I agree. A lot of other modern games other than The Witcher 2 look far better as well.

In my eyes, the graphics are pretty decent / OK. But they're not amazing. Not stunning or incredible. They don't give me a "WOW!" feeling. They give me (generally) more a "Meh." feeling. Some screenshots/scenes also look pretty much the same as my Oblivion does, and that is definitely not impressive today.

There are a lot of other things Bethesda has to focus on though and I respect that. Skyrim is a unique game due to its amount of detail and content...
I still wish and hope that the graphics would have been a bit better. Say... 15-20% better, if that even can be measured :P
I wish and hope for that to come true before 11/11/11.

I agree again  my english is not good , you said exactly what i was thinking :)

EDIT: the characters seem to look a lot better than Oblivion that's for sure , the rest seem the same for me, i am still happy tho :)

Yes, pre beta. Everything we've seen so far is pre beta.

I'm surprised the graphics aren't more quality, as how I perceive 'quality.' Considering how it'll be released in nearly 2012 and also how the map size is small.

Sounds "open" as in "Fable open"

Yes. It could very well be.
But you're just guessing, right? You haven't played the game.
If it turns out The Witcher 2 isn't open world at all, or it's ?Fable Open?, or has worse animations and worse skin pore textures, is it obscene to compare the two games? Hell, no.

Tons of comaprisosns have been drawn between Fable and TES games and i don't seem to recall anyone calling the comparison apple-to-oranges-like.
Let's leave it at that.

I've been behind on recent events and only just watched the Skyrim video yesterday; I thought it was a joke and someone had put Oblivion clips in there, just made better with Mods.

Not until I saw the PC and some other things that gave it away.

It looks better than Oblivion, but more like Oblivion with graphic enhancing mods than any huge improvement.

I do like the way things look darker though, not quite so over the top with the glare.

could be better? idk we will have to see for ourselves. high res screenshots always make me think the graphics are better than they actually are.

Actually i think the opposite.I think when your sat there playing it,it looks far better. Then you have the atmosphere and sound effects etc. In my personal opinion,i'm really surprised of what i've heard they are adding to the game ( extra stuff than oblivion ),plus the graphics they've done on the xbox/consoles....i think it's impressive.I don't think there is much further they can push these consoles, but they have improved with certain games, and to levels i did not expect. If i had a PC i would not be worried at all about how skyrim looks.I think it will look fantastic on PC,then you've got extra bells and whistles from modders. As a console user,i'm more than happy with how the game looks, definantly an improvement over oblivion, and with added animation etc, should be great.
You know, considering the tech in the consoles is older than the consoles release, which would make it around 7-8 years old,it's impressive what they have shown us so far.It also shows how things can be pushed more too.I think because we've waited so long,i think the next gen will look that much better for it.

Once we are all sat there playing skyrim ( no matter the platform ) i think we'll love how it looks....i'm excited. :)

Hello, regardless of processor, ram, etc....do you guys think this video card will handle Skyrim at its fullest?

The graphics are pretty standard for a current game.

That's MUCH more than enough to run Skyrim. You have to remember consoles will be running this too, and, as far as we know, the only thing that the PC version has over it graphically is higher res textures and higher resolutions. So unless you plan on playing on an eyefinity setup, you'll be fine.

Well, I think that is a fair assessment from just looking at what we HAVE seen. But, to be fair, the TES series hasn't really been about pushing graphics (aside from perhaps Oblivion in some ways), it's been about that intense, do what you want, open world experience.

Pre beta or Pre alpha? Because if its in the last parts of Alpha I would be kinda disappointed.. Beta is just a testing phase fixing everything polishing, Alpha is adding things changing things etc games these days reach Beta stage 3-2 months before release in most cases.

That card will run all of next years games at full, especially with how most games now are not putting as much stress on the video card anymore thankfully (better optimization). I am hoping my msi gold edition gtx 470 will run Skyrim at full actually but I really don't know.

well that being a good thing is debatable.. I for one hate that my POS cpu can't run games such as BC2 on high but only using 40% of my GPU.

The red is holding you back a little but there is a lot of beef in the green. You may struggle one day with fully decked out mod set but I don't see you having any problems running vanilla balls out.

Thanks that's nice to know someone thinks it will run vanilla balls out, I hope & think it will too, but I also wouldn't mind getting a new card a couple months before Skyrim & BF 3 come out either.
