Best House to Buy?

Post » Mon Jul 25, 2011 8:13 pm

Normally I don't bother with houses, if I need to store stuff I normally buy the Waterfront Shack and be done with it. On my last playthough I lived at the NotN Church. On this playthough I'm determined to save up and buy a house. I'm playing though as a Tomb Raider kind of character, so doing all kinds of dungeon diving. Finding rare items and selling them, so money isn't going to be a problem to get. I'm thinking the Burma house, but really looking for a place with space so I can display some of my more treasured antiquities. I'm not hardcoe playing though so if I need fame I'll do the area or something.

Also on PS3.

Normally when people want to display lots of goodies they buy Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad or Arborwatch in Chorrol

bruma house is pretty cool, but rosethorn manor in skningrad is better imo. More places to display your impressive swag, and a maid who cooks for you. i usually put the adoring fan outside so i remember which house is mine

I would go with Arborwatch for displaying stuff, I never really liked the feel of the Skingrad house.

I absolutely love Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad, but it's very expensive to fully upgrade it.

The Skingrad home is generally considered the best. It is also the most expensive.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Houses. That link shows all the houses. I love Rosethorn hall because of all the display cases but as others have said, it costs quite a few Septims.

You should have included a poll, but I think Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad is the one you should get if listening to general advise :)

Spoiler
Instead of doing like Renee Gade 2 who asked for our opinion and then did something completely different :meh:

I role play every character that I use, so the house I buy depends on the race that I play.

Bruma- Nord
Cheydinhal- Dunmer
Bravil- Bosmer, Khajiit
Leyawiin- Argonian, Khajiit
IC, Chorrol, Anvil, Skingrad- All other men and mer.

This way it helps my character fit in with the locals. That is very important if the Imperial Watch is hot on my tail. :toughninja:
