Best ingame location for my tent?

Post » Thu Dec 11, 2008 9:21 am

So, Im using a tent mod, but I have no idea where I should make camp.
Somewhere quiet near some water perhaps?
Actually RPing as a scavanger/survivalist so having an awesome location for my tent would be nice.

I doubt that's a safe place. :P

Well, I am not really looking for trouble. In fact, I'd rather stay out of it!

I actually had that place in mind! However, isn't the water there full of radiation?

how about the ivampa dry lake, there's no water but it's nice and flat, and watching the dust flow in the wind is quite peaceful.

Hmm, at least I think it is. Using my phone at the moment so I can't check..
Also I've thought about putting the tent close to a river, but im not sure where, since I will be using a farming mod to plant and grow my own food.

I might try that. But I do need fresh water for my plants. :/

Peak of Black Mountain.

Sounds dangerous! Doesn't the mutans respawn? How about the radiation?

Another good idea, a little close to a settlement though, and I'd rather set my tent up somewhere without spawning enemies!

Well, you COULD put it at Cottonwood Overlook, it's nearby water, and if you need food, go a little south and kill the lakelurks, who are far enough to not impede any peaceful living.

Good idea. Maybe I could climb the mountains on the other side of the river, and set up camp there? Worth a try!

Let me take a look at my map of the Mojave Wasteland... I'd recommend the shore near Camp Guardian, it's got clean water and it's relatively safe, except for the occasional feral ghoul, cazador, radscorpion, or giant rat.

Somewhere on the shore around lake mead, lakelurks may turn up but they're not very dangerous and you might be able to find a lakelurk-free zone. ;)

I would put it near the south end of Redrock Canyon so you can watch the Bighorner herds graze....

Clean water is always nice, but making camp with cazadors nearby gives me the creeps. Will check it out though!

Will definitely check that place out!

I will check that out too, however it's full of Vipers, and some cazadors. :pinch:

I might go there and take a look, might buy a backpack and store lots of water close to the tent, for watering purposes.

Isn't there a recipe using survival skill to purify water? I think it may be bugged though....can not remember because I have never used it.

That's the tent.

Farming is this one;

Also, does anyone know how to change irradiated water to clean in the geck? That park location would be perfect without the water radiation..

I just checked out the area around lake mead:
the west shore is very short with 3-8 lurks depending on level and a ranger station, not much else, doesn't feel to home-y though.
the north shore has camp golf, but north of there are a couple patches of flat land and some bighorner.
the east shores are the worst: many lurks usually in groups of 2, many packs of cazadores in groups of about 5; Callville Bay didn't look so bad, aside from a cazador nursery (easily cleared with annabelle) the boat ramp looks like a good place for a tent.

As for camp guardian: I see no good place to set up a tent, no good flat land and the area consists of coyotes, scorpions of varying size, gint rats and gouls, as well as lurks in the caves.

The river-shores are a smarter choice though I've not reconed the whole expance.
