Best legendary drop you've gotten so far?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 9:57 am

Dunno really, got so many legendaries so far it's hard to compare.. But I guess my favourites at the moment would be a fully upgraded (6 crank) Laser Musket with a +25% overall damage buff. And maybe a fully upgraded .44 Revolver with a never ending clip capacity.

Hunting rifle with a Chance to stagger. My Legendary drops have been pretty crappy thus far.

I just got a Nocturnal Double Barrel Shotgun which looks kind of interesting, but I gave it to Cait. Don't know if she'll use it.

Combat shotty that has a high chance to blow the legs off enemies. Considering I use it for my cq weapon on a ranged character its a lifesaver.

Spent most of the first 20 levels selling the legendary gear because I didn't quite get the game mechanics and they yeilded plenty of caps :)

Lol I had a pipe rifle with that, I named it "The Lou Gehrig" on account of its effect and the fact it looked kind of like a crutch. Kind of a bad taste joke but I thought it was kinda funny.

With my recent big guns guy the only legendary thing of note is ironically a quest reward gun that looks like a little Walter PPK, takes 10mm rounds and has increased VATS accuracy Plus reduced AP cost.

Got my first couple last night. A plain metal arm armor that blocks 15% fmg from Mirelurks and bugs. Y'all jelly? (Though from what I hear about Mirelurk queens and legendary blood bugs / bloat flies, maybe I'll be glad of it)

Also got a plasma damage hunting rifle. Not really overpowered, and it's satisfying to produce some raider Soylent Green while being low level. :)

Some of these effects (bleed and doubleshot in particular) soud so over the top I wonder if they'll need them at all.

Haha, I feel your pain. Last friday I had an epic fight against a legendary super mutant in a ransacked building, he had a dog as pet and was some levels above me. We threw granades, I did some mine-trapping and kiting stuff, intense gunfight, 5 stimpacks burned.

After the fight I was like "Jes...that was intense! Now let's get that epic Legendary loot! *rustling* Erm...what?! A cane?! With a chance of stunning?! WHAT THE HELL?"

Like a kick in the happy zone...

You mean you "bought" it ;)

It's a unique weapon and was mentioned 2 or 3 times in this thread allready. Try the "MIRV"-mod on it. It than shoots 16 mini-nukes at once! Total annihalation! :D

I have an explosive combat shotgun that is so OP I had to restrict my use of it to keep some challenge in the game. I think it has some weird bug with it's damage calculation... it can pretty much one shot anything that isn't a legendary and even one shots legendaries sometimes. The only thing that stood up for more than 3 shots has been a legendary death claw that took 8-10 shots (still not the entire magazine of 12). Even that felt bad, since I unloaded all the shots in a couple of seconds. I reserve the gun for over the top bullet sponge enemies now. If 100+ damage weapons are chipping at something, then it's time for the anti-matter shotgun to come out.

I'd say my best find though is a gauss rifle that does double damage to targets at full health. I found it at lv 41 on a legendary super mutant. I haven't used the weapon yet, but I know it's an amazing find. Ammo for it is rare so far, but fortunately, I've been buying the ammo at every opportunity all along, so I've got ~300 stockpiled. The guass rifle has been my favorite weapon in the fallout series. After using it in Fallout 2 to such a large extent, I researched to see what real tech might be involved in such a thing...and found out it wasn't pure scifi. I ended up building various coilguns IRL. Mine could put nails through aluminum cans and would only scratch the paint job on theoreticaly power armor, but still fun!

10mm pistol with 25 points of bleed damage. I don't even use pistols, but this thing is extremely powerful, because the bleed damage stacks, the bleed damage doesn't care how little damage the actual bullet does, the bleed damage doesn't care where you hit the enemy, and the bleed damage ignores armor. It's actually the strongest weapon I have to deal with super mutant behemoths and mirelurk queens and all those kinds of crazy tough enemies. I can just spray this pistol at them and watch the damage pile up as all those dozens of bleeds occur. The only way this could be even more ridiculous is if it was a .38 weapon, so I would be able to burn the most abundant junk rounds in the game on taking down the toughest enemies.

Actually, the most OP weapon in the game would probably be a minigun with that kind of a bleed proc, because every single tiny bullet would also come with that sweet sweet armor ignoring extra damage and just melt face.

From a balance standpoint it would really be sensible if they changed the bonus damage property on those kinds of items to a percentage, since having it be static per shot just makes it go out of control with weapons that shoot lots of cheap bullets very fast, but nearly worthless on slow shooting weapons.

Two shot automatic combat rifle, it was so powerful i don't even use it anymore, made everything so easy it got boring. That prefix is just too damn OP.

Sniper rifle that does double damage if target is at full health. Once I refitted it for .50 cal it become a permanent part of my inventory since I'm playing a lone wanderer/sniper/sneakster type guy. As long as I'm undetected everything's a one-shot wonder. Undetected = 4x damage.

have about 15 but all crap so far the only one kinda decent is an unlimited capacity hunting rifle but for a high damage slow rate of fire weapon its pretty unnecessary to have 286 rounds in the clip compared to say 10

im a bit unsure about the "refil ap's on crit" is that only when you use the "execute critical" command? or are there still random crits in this game? im still confused by that

Incindiary laser pistol. Well, it WAS one.

Automatic barrel, beam splitter, reflex sight, the high-end recoil-dampening rifle stock...

Only downside is that I need to be close to the enemy to maximize it's potential.

So far the Sub Machine gun Spray n Pray is pretty darn good. Although I like the Devastator Combat armour too, I have the Helm, Chest and Left Arm.

Relentless anything is basically godmode. You can literally live in Vats.

I took off all my Vats regen gear for more defensive stuff and didn't even bother finishing grim reaper/action-girl perk lines after getting it lol.
