I like the look of Minutemen General's armor. .. but can it be improved?

My favorite armor is the Courser one at the moment, it reminds me of the clerics in Equilibrium. I wear that coupled with a synth field helmet.

I also like the Helmeted Caged armor, it looks badass.

I'm pleased with the general design of armor and clothing items in FO4, I just wish there were more choices, hopefully they will add more with DLCs.

Brown bombers jacket and welding goggles go great together. I tried putting on a avaiter cap on but only super mutants can wear it

Do you know if armor like Caged Armor can be improved?

I like that one too, I found a set very early, lvl 4 or 5 and wore it until about lvl 12 or so. But I could not find a way to improve it. I suspect that it cannot be improved, but I guess I don't really know.

Heavy combat armour looks nice, but I am sad there's no helmet to go with it.

I was using road leathers with leather armor pieces, but was disappointed that I couldn't upgrade the road leathers. I've since moved back to the vault suit that I've upgraded with heavy armor chest & legs with sturdy combat armor arms. I don't like the heavy armor shoulder pieces.

I should wear a helmet, but haven't found one I like.

It seems headgear in general got the shaft this time around.

Almost all the layered items look like crap.
The combat armor looks lower tech then a metal chest piece! Compared to Fallout 3 and 1 and even 1 it looks like crap. The leather is the only thing that looks half decent.

Actually I was just on the Fallout Wiki site and was looking through various armours and like the Heavy Combat and Heavy Synth armours. I haven't come across any of these yet. I must have to be higher than level 33.

I'd say it is either Leather or (Shadowed) Heavy Combat, depending on who I'm playing as/with.

No it can't be improved, I tried it. It's very disappointing, I hope they patch the game so we can improve full body armors too.

Lorenzo's Suit with a Bowler Hat is brilliant. Armed with a walking cane I feel just like a proper Victorian gent.

Road leather + full set of leather armour + militia hat + patrolman glasses.

Very sweet looking outfit for my current mad max themed run.

Thought the same thing as soon as I saw the road leathers. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for the reminder!

Oh my I just found the BOS Officer Uniform and it looks amazing with shadowed combat armor pieces around it. Have the military cap beret and patrolman sunglasses to boot. Looks very stealthy! I had to kill Brandis to get it though. But he wouldn't report back to headquarters. Deserters won't be tolerated is what I was thinking as I wanted to find out what that uniform looked like on me!

Silver shroud armor is pretty sweet, not good stats wise though. I've been using the army clothes, you can put armor over top of them. So far i have regular combat armor with one arm using heavy combat. Can't wait until i get a full set.

So where do I get this powered armor red paint

their actually IS a cool looking helmet thta works perfectly with combat armor, especially the heavy variant, it is the full face armor (Forgot its name, but it covers nearly the whole face and comes in several colors)

Are you all using a mod to make the armors layered over outfits? I seem to be unable to equip both my combat armor and drifter outfit. Not even sure if it would look good that way though. Maybe certain outfits can't be equipped underneath armor? I've been trying to find something that looks good on my female character too. The combat armor looks ok, but I've got mixed feelings about it. Normally I wouldn't mind seeing a little skin, but to think that that protects you well from bullets is unrealistic. That and I don't like the star on the chest piece. When playing as a female character I prefer to have her have the femme fatale look, a balance between six appeal and being equipped to handle anything that comes her way. Lol
