Best looking armouroutfit ?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 10:01 am

Hi all,

Just wondering, what is the best looking armour/outfit you have found/used ?

Share your wares and stories of how you found them !

I'm currently using a full set of lightweight, shadowed combat armor, road leathers and red bandana. Not overly keen on the road leathers or combat helmet, so might switch to BoS uniform and military cap.

I searched for Absalom for hours to take his armour, only to stumble across a random enemy wearing a full set of combat armour. Of course, I found Absalom almost immediately after that ........

I wair the Pastor's Vestments and spread the power of Atom across the common wealth with my gamma gun. I found it in a church filled with super mutants who have been touched by Atom's glow.[edit]

Heavy raider set. Makes you look like an industrial juggernaut.

It's gotta be the Silver Shroud set. It's not particularly strong when you stumble upon it in the comic store, but there's a quest you can find later to power it up. It's not the strongest armor, but it's decent for a light set and it looks great.

Never seen the preacher outfit ..... will have to keep my eye out for any churches on my travels !

This is very true ! Gotta how menacing it looks ..... would be awesome for a melee focused build

I am just about to go and get my hands on it, but was unaware of the 'power-up', could make things interesting :)

Of course it's subjective, i'm asking you what you like

I've not yet seen the courser uniform but have heard it mentioned a few times. How did you get yours ?

I think that is the kind of look i'd like to go for, thanks for the tip !

Personally I like McCreadys duster, sure its one of those outfits that counts as armour neck down, but since it can be improved by ballistic weave, ya not to handicapped defense wise if ya have ranks in armourer.

Cait's outfit, it suits perfectly for my light armored stealthy char as i'm not wearing helm nor arms protections.

It is actually called "Pastor's Vestments" in game sorry for saying it wrong. Also you can put ballistic weave on it for some added protection.

I was a little disappointed in how the armors looked. I am not sure how to really explain it beyond that they look "painted on" rather than fitted on like in Skyrim. If that makes any sense?

yes having it not cover your entire body seems like a design flaw, how many bullets will that leather sash you weir when you put on a leather chest peace stop? Probably none unless they are aiming for it.

When they exclaimed that armour was modular, i was rather hoping for more. It's not to say that it isn't a wonderful game ..... but my preconceptions were a little different.

Road Leathers for my girl are the best right now with a few leather piece add-ons. Plus shades.

After I got it I spent the rest of my first playthrough wearing Kellogg's armor. It kinda made me a fragile flower since it can't be modded, but it just looks so casually badass I couldn't resist. Plus, I was with the BoS, so I just applied power armor as needed.

The lack of armor variety was a disappointment to me. You basically get to choose from leather, raider, combat, metal, or synth. Mods can make them look sliiiightly different. For instance, I was extremely disappointed when I shelled out for the Black Ops chest piece only to see that it looked just like any other combat armor. Couldn't have at least thrown in a black texture for it?

All that said, I just use deep pocketed combat armor over military fatigues. Negates it's own weight (which is good for my low strength sneaky sniper) while providing balanced protection. I just wish it came in black.

I like Road Leather or Vault Suit under Shadow armor (regular or Sturdy).

Who do you take me for, that would be disrespectful!

(But Maxson better have eyes on the back of his head on this Institute playthrough... :P)

First mod I used and one of the very few I bothered with for my first playthrough was a combat armor 'dark metallic' retexture. I really hated the yellowish/white look of combat armor by default... the artist must have been drunk.

the Vendor in Grey Garden sold the Vestments for me, but since I can't wear any armor over it it wasn't strong enough for me.

yes the submarine captain uniform is cool i wish you could put armor over it to, makes no sense that you can strap stuff to it. and they need more full face helms

Well, it's like "military beige" in color, which is fine on it's own, but for something called Black Ops, I'd expect a little black.
