Best Looking Heavy Armor for a Khajiit

Post » Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:59 pm

I finally tried out a Khajiit character. He is an Archer/Sneaker who is also deadly with his claws in melee (going to max out his hand to hand damage output so that is a viable option up close). So for that I will need to use heavy armor (Fists of Steel), which isn't the best fit for such character/race. There are some exceptions that I like, like Falmer Armor.

What would you go with? I hope there are some Khajiit players with Heavy Armor which can help me out.

hmm, wish I knew.. but it also depends on gender too.

Is there any sites with screenshots of all races in all armors? The wiki has a few but not a full set

I would mix it up. I do that anyway. I wouldn't undergo a full set just because of the Gauntlet perk.

Don him in light armor with a set of heavy gauntlets.

I think the max damage output for those claws is 65... or close to it. That's on Adept. If you are playing on higher difficulty, it becomes less and less attractive as a close quarter alternative to 1H.

Yeah, I've came upon that information elsewhere (about maximum damage, you are right, it's about that, 68 I think) but I'm not sure if it's true. If it is, then indeed I wouldn't need Fists of Steel to reach the threshold, because of the Vampire Lord Poison Talons Perk (I think it works outside the Vampire Lord form) and that ring which grants +20 damage to claw attacks (again, not 100% sure).

I'm playing on custom difficulty where I deal normal damage (1x) and enemies do double damage to me + some other gameplay ehancing mods (high level enemy scaling and so) I find that most to my liking as I don't abuse the crafting skills/equipment. With that kind of damage output hand to hand is still a viable choice I think and it makes for an interesting character concept.

if you plan to make a character who uses hand-to-hand, I suggest you take up enchanting and disenchant the Gloves of the Pugilist...

I really wish they hadn't removed the unarmed skill... i loved that skill...

Yeah, I'm aware of those, thanks. I did some calculations in the other thread about the hand-to-hand damage output, but if there is this damage cap then it changes things. For example, a Khajiit (22 base claw damage) in Daedric gauntlets (18 damage) wearing a Ring of the Beast (+20 damage) and with Poison Talons perk (+20 poison claw damage) would have 80 damage total before enchanting. With an amulet and enchanted gauntlets (and no crafting/restoration loop abuse) he would have well over 100 damage I think. But if the cap exists then it is only 65-68. Still not bad when playing on Adept like JCC said, but dissapointing.

Now... I didn't mean that there was a "cap" on the damage. I just remember that the "max" damage possible was 60 something.

However, I could be.. and probably am, terribly mistaken.

I just created a khajit unarmed and it's one if the most fun I've yet to have in the game. I used the go to jail/equip multiple items exploit and I am 3-5 shotting bears and even dragons. Soooooooo much fun.
