Best MageWarrior Custom Class for Daggerfall?

Post » Sun Jul 13, 2014 11:06 pm

Hey guys. Just thinking I might boot up Daggerfall again. I've never finished it before, but I'm hoping to finally get there this time. From what I've read, for ease of completion the recommended class is Spellsword, which is a magic and combat hybrid. As such, I figure a class like that is my best bet for finishing the game. But I was thinking, perhaps there's an even better magic/combat hybrid class I could play as if I created a custom class? Since I don't have a lot of experience with the game, I figured I should go to the experts. Could any of you suggest a good custom class for me to create? A magic/combat hybrid that would make completing the game as easy as possible? Thanks in advance, guys.

Well, I'm not sure what the "best" would be, and I don't claim to be an expert, but I would recommend using Long Blade and Critical Striking for melee combat, Alteration and Mysticism for levitation, water breathing, teleportation and other spells to navigate dungeons, and Destruction if you plan on using magic to attack directly (although, if you have a sword, I think that's kind of a waste of magicka).

As far as attributes are concerned, I'd recommend high Agility (for the chance-to-hit bonus), Intelligence (for the magicka), and Willpower (for the spell resistance).

For Special (dis)advantages, take Increased Magery (which one you choose depends on how much you want to use magic), immunity to paralysis (if not an Altmer) and inability to use any weaponry you don't plan on using (blunt weapons, axe et cetera)

I hope you found this at least somewhat helpful :)
