Post » Thu Jun 23, 2011 3:32 am

Current Specs

2x GTX 470 SLI (both OC to 950 core)
GIGABYTE 790FXTA UD5
16 GB RAM 1666 MHz
AMD 965 BE (OC to 4.2 GHz)
SLI BIOS HACK.

So I pretty much can handle any mod. Heck i could load the game into memory.
I want all teh modz; and I need something that makes the draw distance like 3 times what it is kuz it looks bleh and whatever else you guys use.

Unfortunately even with a patch Oblivion will never use more than 4 Gbytes of memory. You'll need to use something like Oblivion Stutter Remover's heap replacement algorithm, too, otherwise you'll chew through 4 Gbyte pretty quickly with a lot of resource intensive mods. You also won't be able to take advantage of much more than a single core on your CPU.

In any event, RAEVWD http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20053 sounds like what you're looking for with respect to distant land. Just keep in mind that you will find things more limited by the game engine than you might expect with your system specs, especially if you start adding things like FCOM, Qarl's Texture Pack, etc. on top of it, each of which can be resource intensive.

I never was able to get quarls LOD thing working.
How far can I safley go LOD wise?

Should I change it in my gpu driver or do it in engine?

Read the docs for RAEVWD - it tells you how to adjust appropriate settings in your Oblivion.ini files.
