Best Movie Tie-In Game You've Ever Played?

Post » Mon Mar 28, 2011 9:10 pm

I didn't know there were three. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sega-Aliens-Vs-Predator-PS3/dp/B002BA52JQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295268064&sr=8-1. Still working my way through the Predator missions at the moment, loving the gruesome finishing moves :D

That's the new one. Ain't half bad really, but try to find AvP 2 game. It much bigger and better. It is old, though. System recommendations are 600MHz Pentium 3, 256MB RAM and a 32MB 3D graphics card with DirectX 8 support; a game that you could run on a cellphone nowadays :D

No direct connection at all.

"At all"? Hardly. Although I guess that depends on how you define "direct" and "connection".

Also "no".

Okay, then tell me how the plot of the movies and the one of the game, taking place thousands of years before "once upon a time", affect each other. I'm curious now! ^_^

Does that count though?

I wouldn't count that because it's not based on a Star Wars movie. Now what would count is Star Wars Ep III ROTS the game. Which did in fact svck.

I've heard good things about the Toy Story 3 game, but never played it myself,

Does the Scarface game count?

if it loosely follows the plot of the film, sure. If it's a different plot I wouldn't count it. Kind of like how I won't count KoTOR or Force Unleashed.

It's an alternate history that shows what would have happened if Tony survived Sosa's raid on his mansion.

That's a hard one to place, I guess we'll just count it for now.

Are you implying that what happened in the game doesn't affect the events in the films at all? You seem to have a pretty bad grasp of causality. If what happened in the game had not happened in the SW universe, that could have caused Anakin or Luke Skywalker not to be born at all, or who knows what else could have been different.

KOTOR is just part of Star Wars Universe. Which was originaly created by movies, which nowadays includes games, TV series, books, toys, ect.

It is not tied directly to movies.

The Thing was one of the best survival horror games of the last generation. They need to make another.

Krull

But that harkens back to the arcade days.

I guess the only other one I've seen is Hitman. So I'm not sure if that's the best or worst LOL

The only one I can think of right now is the Scott Pilgrim XBLA game, and that's based more on the books, although it came out at around the same time as the movie

Are you suggesting that Jar Jar Binks was caused by Darth Revan? The... fiend! Indeed we have found the true nature of the dark side.

Tron: Evolution is probably the best movie tie-in I've played. Runner up being Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Why the harry potter game? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb1c_YQHO_k&feature=related

the two hack'n'slay games accompanying the LOTR movies, probably.

I liked these quite a lot, despite how hard they were towards the end. I haven't played many movie video games...however i've seen a lot of video game movies.

Most of which are bad. The only one I can remember that was half decent was (Disney's) Prince of Persia.

I've heard great things about Toy Story 3, and it was made using the same engine as Just Cause 2, right? Is it console only?

Easily The Chronicles of Riddike: Escape From Butcher Bay, it's also one of my favorite games period. Spider Man 2 was also a pretty decent movie game, even if all I did was climb buildings for hours

The Chronicles of Riddike: Escape from Butcher Bay

Loved that one. The stealth was a bit too linear for my tastes, but it was a very good game overall.

Also, the Battle For Middle Earth games are loads of fun. I should reinstall the second one.
