Hi. Where is the best place to purchase Soul Gems, preferably Black or Grand? And do they come filled or no?

Mage in Morthal, called Falien or something like that. Only guy I know who sells both black and grand.

Jarl court wizards always carry plenty of soul gems, although I'm not sure if they carry black. They are available both filled and empty.

You can purchase them filled or empty. As too where the best place is, you can buy them from most general merchants and from mages/sorcerers that sell items, such as College of Winterhold or the Jarl's wizards that reside in each capital. I have never bought soul gems unless I just wanted to dump more gear on the current merchant I was dealing with, as I get tired of traveling to multiple places to sell off loot. You can generally find plenty of gems in game, especially if you go to dungeons with mages or go to Dwemer ruins, the automatons have a high percentage of soul gems inside them, and so you really don't have to buy them, unless you are just trying to level up enchanting quickly.

Falion in Morthal and the College of Mages in Winterhold. Plenty of soul gems of all kinds, and the only two places I know of with merchants selling black soul gems.

Your best bet otherwise are ruins that are rife with necromancers and conjurers, especially when you get higher in level. You'll sometimes even find a black soul gem that's already filled at the grand level.

Otherwise, it's court mages and pretty much any merchant that sells items out of the "Misc." category. But if you want soul gems coming out of your ears and a serious amount of gold spent in one spent, it's the College all the way.

Take it from me, I'm a guy who has something like a hundred pounds of soul gems by now. I love the effect of the soul trap spell, and I must have every soul I can take.

If only I could make a mega soul gem of some sort, I'd be even more Gollum for that.

Yeah, I'm at the point now where I want to start putting perks into the Enchantment tree and I'm gonna need some good gems to increase my enchantment strength for items I apply it to. I can afford whatever the price they're selling them for no problem.

Thanks for the tips guys.
