best place to get a hunting rifle? : Fallout: New Vegas

I don't want to spend 2000 caps at the Run Gunners or Gun Runners or whatever it's called but I reeeaaallly want the gun. tips on where i could find it??

I won't be much help since I don't have the game but surely plenty of Raiders around will have them. They're always wielding Hunting Rifles.

Yep. Several of the Fiends that hang out West of the Strip carry them along with Laser RCW's and Varmint Rifles.

if you follow the train track near goodsprings when u get to the train depot the is a skeleton with 1 next to him and some ammo

Skip the hunting rifle and go for the trail carbine. Same DAM but bigger magazine and faster rate of fire. Slap on a scope = win.
