Best place to live in new vegas

Post » Wed Sep 15, 2010 7:30 am

I am finished with pretty much every quest except endings and I want to find a good place to live and I can't decide where I should live. Where do you think the best place to live is and why?

Vault 21 if you like cleanliness. Vault 3 if you dont mind fiends at your front door. The Lucky 38 for it's sheer beauty. Wolfhorn Ranch for it's largeness. The various shacks in the Mojave for that 'Wastelander' feel.

Lucky 38 is too dark...you can't barely see anything

I can't remember what it's called, I'll go wiki it and see if I can't get you an exact location if you feel like checking it out, but that floating scavenger island. It's basically four shacks, on a floating scrap island. I love it, I wouldn't live anywhere else. If I didn't have mods. :3

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Scavenger_Platform you go. On occasion, some Lakelurks like to respawn on it, but as long as you don't fast travel back when you're almost dead, you'll be fine.

The Fort is quite cool, I've never lived there but I've considered it a few times, you have to spend a while getting rid of the bodies that don't despawn but you get dozens of tents to sleep in and plenty of identical footlockers.. You can also sit on Caesars throne and pretend your an ancient Roman emporer :P

I've always just lived in Novac myself, if the Lucky 38 didnt have 200 load screens to get into the suit though I would probably live there. On my next run though im probably going to find a place a little more specific to the NCR though, as long as I can be sure that none of my stuff is going to get jacked when im not there.

Well, duh. Your cameras have night vision. ;)

But yeah, I agree. I don't find it dark at all.

Don't bother with the Lucky 38, the trunks and lockers have a nasty habit of swallowing your stuff. I lost hundreds of crafting items that way. Novac, on the other hand, I've never had that problem with. It could do with a working radio, though.

Well in the heart of mr. Doom's idea Camp McCarran cleared out save for the merchant guy in the back is pretty fun because of tsa jokes, pretending u have afleet of working airplanes and screwing ncr royally.
:spoilers:

u can become the khan"s leader and have a gang home
then of course jacobtown with super mutants and snow which is a nice place

Yes but just the fact of two gets annoying after awhile.

Indeed, and just imagine, your own air conditioned suite AND an air conditioned coctail lounge with a view of the Mojave. Oh man, that would be such a great life to retire to. :cryvaultboy:

Huh I never thought about it being air conditoned, that would be pretty sweet. Trust me patrolling the Mojave can sometimes make you wish for a nuclear winter, its that hot.

The truth behind NCR at Hoover Dam is it has a hidden cache of air condition underwear. Why else would they want it so bad?

Crap I was hoping nobody would find out about the underwear, now we're gonna have even more people after it than we already do.
