Best Platform to Play On

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:47 am

I just want to see where the majority of the players will be playing. if you want, feel free to offer an explanation of why you chose the platform you chose.

Note:

Best system and system you are going to use are not necessarily the same thing.

In terms of "best," I would say PC, for the simple fact that there is more to offer - dedicated servers, server browsing, mod/map support, the community, control scheme, and capable of the best graphics, plus, SD is a PC company, so if I wee to vote on which version to be least skeptical about, I would put my money on PC (not saying the other versions won't be good) I would like to get it for both PC and Xbox. PC for the control scheme, dedicated servers and because I have played all previous SD games (and RTCW) on PC, and Xbox for friends.

gotta go with PC, it's obviously the best platform with dedicated servers, mappable controls, ability to use custom content and user created levels. Consoles have a long way to go if they want to have the control that PC gamers have

Ironically, consoles trump PC gaming, in terms of sale and popularity. It's apparent that players would gladly sacrifice versatility and superior hardware for ease of use and limitations. If I wasn't so broke at the moment, I would have my new rig built and be playing much more on PC. But as it stands, I have been using my xbox more since it's all I really have at the moment.

Initial question was, "What is the best" subbed what will you play on, my answer was PC, I have Quad core, 8 Gig RAM, that will always trump Consoles which have poor CPU and GPU capabilities in comparison

I'm probably gonna end up playing on the PS3 because I don't have the cash to buy a new desktop that'd be able to run Brink smoothly. But my vote definitely goes to the PC, not because of the fact that players can make their own maps, but because you have so much more control in what you're doing. Especially in a game like Brink, where there is a lot of movement involved, which I think the parameters of the consoles will hinder quite severely.

You're not gonna find an Xbox360 in Asia, the number of Xbox owners is about the same as Ps3 owners in Europe - but you can be certain that the Ps3 owners play online cuz it's free. And from my experience in MAG, a large number of Americans play that online - which is Ps3 exclusive.

lol. Kinda stereotypical but i suppose its totaly true. PS3 because 1) onlines free and 2) dont have a gaming comp.

The lack of dedicated servers on PS3 and Xbox is really annoying me!! I think its just not right that one console gets it but the others dont... just wrong to me.

1. The PC is not a console
2. You get what you pay for.

Just a question out of curiosity:

I currently own a ps3, the only reason why I bought this was because I had a ps2 and a ps1...So I felt I kinda needed to continue my chain.
I don't mind any console really...but here's where my question comes in.
How is the Xbox 360 any different to the ps3?

The biggest difference is game library and community.

If a game is released for both consoles, chances are, you will find more people to play with online on the Xbox. That is probably a key reason for deciding which to buy. The other reason is exclusive titles. The PS3 is capable of better graphics and has a blu-ray player, which is the biggest reason to buy a PS3.
