Best Provinces

Post » Tue May 07, 2013 1:20 pm

We don't know yet, of course, but the game world would not necessarily have to be a uniform scale. The last I heard, the landscape was not going to be contiguous, as in the single player games, but divided by loading screens. If this is the case it would allow Zenimax to build different areas to different scales.

We haven 't seen all the provinces but how I see them in my mind then I like them all.

High Rock as a very green woodland province with hills (highlands) and a high mountain to the east towards Skyrim.

Hammerfell as a big sandy desert land much like the Saharan North Africa.

Summerset isles i'm guessing is warm tropical land as it is in line with Valenwood and Elsweyr. Pyandonea just to the south which was once part Summerset Isles is home to the Maomer who are called sea elves or tropical elves. So I guess Pyandonea is a Tamriel version of a tropical paradise like the Polynesian islands such as Hawaii and Toga etc.

Valenwood as jungle rainforest

Elsweyr as jungle rainforest on the border with Valenwood and down into the south and then turning into sandy canyons to the north.

Black Marsh as a wet swampy land with a dense mist and vines growing everywhere making it hard to navigate. Hopefully it'll have similar plants and creatures to what we saw in Morrowind which will set it away from Valenwood & Elsweyr. Hopefully it will have giants mushrooms growing everywhere being that it is a land of moisture.

TES V is the only game I have played, so I picked Skyrim as my favorite province. However, I hope to visit the Summerset Isles Aldmeri Dominion in the next game.

The province that I have no interest in seeing is Black Marsh because I am not fond of swamps. I also don't find Argonians interesting.

Perhaps, although I hope that rumors of TES VI taking place in High Rock are false. Even the in-game lore states that it is an unremarkable place.

I'm actually quite interested in seeing High Rock again, though I'd rather visit Elsweyr or Alinor first. The interplay between the "civilized" kingdoms, Reachmen, and Bjoulsae river tribes, Its unique religion (Sheor the enemy, local god-heroes like Ebonarm, worship of Altmeri gods, not acknowledging Talos the Divine), to say nothing of the importance of Adamantine Tower in the post-Daggerfall lore, all make it a potentially very compelling province.

But not right after Cyrodiil and Skyrim. I want to go somewhere warm and tropical and weird now.

Favorite Province: Black Marsh, I would very much like to see what it is like there, especially after reading Argonian Account Book 1-4
Least Favorite Province: Cyrodiil, The landscape in Oblivion made it seem, kind of boring. Too Normal.
Largest ESO Province: I believe it would be the Ebonheart Pact, though I could care less which province is the largest.
Which ESO Province will have the most People: Ebonheart Pact.

Favorite Province: Elsweyr home of the Khajiit( Awesome race)

Least Favorite Province: Summerset Isles home of the Altmer race.

If Elder Scrolls VI will take place on the Summerset Isles, this will be my reaction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3I7p5lvkwQ

Favorite Province - Cyrodill, specifically Ald Cyrod.

Least Favorite Province - Also Cyrodill, specifically the dull, culturally indistinct travesty in Oblivion.

My favorite place is Black Marsh as it's home of my favorite race and it's described in the books like a dangerous and outlandish province. I would like to explore it in a future game.
My least favorite is Skyrim now that I've seen it, it's too empty and desolate and the Nords are not so interesting either. Compared to Morrowind and the Dunmer, I would describe Skyrim and its people as banol and boring.

People don't hate Cyrodiil, they just hate the boring and mundane treatment that it got in Oblivion. It had amazing potential to be a deeply political game, with all sorts of backstabbing and vying for power between the various Councilors and nobles scrambling for the empty throne, the merchants trying to expand and steal trade from each other, and even the various Divine cults competing for worshipers and favor. Instead, we got a simple hack & slash game with goblins infesting the place from end to end, a one-man council with no real purpose, more bandits than honest citizens, and a couple of token undeserted farms around Skingrad that were supposed to feed the whole province. Why were there more NPCs on the relatively empty and quarantined island of Vvardenfell in Morrowind province than in the entire heavily populated province of Cyrodiil? Was there even a mine in the entire province that produced anything besides Goblins? It just felt like someone's bad idea of a joke.

Having the entire thousand-mile province scaled down to where you could run its entire length in a day or two, and see White Gold Tower from either end, made it feel like an insignificant dot on the map, not the largest province in the game. If any province needs a re-visit, it's Cyrodiil. so it can be redone right.

Actually if you look at it Morrowind seems to look bigger then Cyrodiil also I'm going to have to go with the Ebonheart pact getting the most people and being the biggest seeing as Dunmer are incredibly popular.

I've always imagined Cyrodiil as more of a Latin / Mediterranean type of province with lots of Roman, Greek, Spanish or Byzantine inspired architecture. When they made Oblivion I felt a lot of Cyrodiil looked very Germanic which was better suited to parts of Skyrim. Because of this I chose Cyrodiil as my least favourite and I chose Skyrim as my most favourite. I am unsure about High Rock but I imagine it a little like Skyrim but full of mages.

1.) Favourite Province - Argonia - I've always been a fan of Argonians and Argonia. I didn't have a reason when I was young, but now I have lots of reasons.

2.) Least Favourite Province - Hammerfell - I've always found it quite dull and the setting has always seemed like one of those places I don't want to go.

3.) Largest Province - Cyrodiil - I'm not sure about this one. Morrowind seems bigger! Te only reason I chose Cyrodiil is because it's the capital and makes sense. I'm not sure though...

4.) Largest ESO Faction - Ebonheart Pact - This is obvious and pointless.

5.) Most Popular ESO Faction - Ebonheart Pact - This faction's stupid. They've put everyone's favourite provinces (because of the games) and races, who hate each other's guts, together. Everyone's going to be in this faction and everyone will hate each other. Damn ZeniMax Online...
