OB: Bretons are not a bad choice, due to their elemental resistance is 50 across the board. Potentially an altmer if they have full absorb magicka, so that way they regain more magicka due to their weakness too it. The issue with the two, is that it'll take some time to bring their combat skills and stats up, but it'll be worth the wait. They make great battlemages too.
Redguards have the best self-buff when it comes to being a warrior, amazing stats, and not to mention no elemental weaknesses, and immunity or close to immunity to poisons and disease. Orcs are pretty good, because they have 25 magicka resistance across the board. However, berserk, while can be quite powerful, is a double edged sword. The problem with it, is that you agility drops to 0, so it's easy to get knocked around. Nords are good, but they don't have that much going for them, other than having no real weaknesses, and some decent strengths. Redguards are superior to nords though.
Dunmer have it well by being extremely well rounded. Not to mention, they have really high fire resistance, which is VERY useful in OB.
