best sniper class?

Yes, having that turret behind you would be almost as good as having a "6 man", but am I the only one hoping that there will be a way to negate the turrets effectiveness? Here's hoping that there is an ability that either lets you disable them easily or that allows you to bypass

them. Don't want them being a completely reliable asset. It would be annoying to have someone up in an impregnable nest popping off your team with impunity.

(Even if it takes 3-4 shots to down a badie with a light rifle it would seem to be a little one sided.)

They are destroyable with nades f.e., Operatives can hack them to make them work for your team. They have limitid range, turning speed and there's a maximum firing angle both horizontally as vertically.

Of course if all your characters are done and lvled, then you don't really need the exp and you can then play how you want. Making Sniping a perfectly viable option if some1 so chooses.

which is fine by me. i figured such a thing would happen so i'm not planning on playing lvl20 characters. pending how well the role has been quashed by the game design...it's counter intuitive to objective based gameplay. hopefully it will quickly be realised and i'll be able to play lvl20 but if half my team of 8 sits around keeping their turrets company why bother playing the rest of the round?

Well the whole team isn't supposed to be doing it. And I'm sure that wont happen often. Sniping In Brink will more than likley be used so that someone defending away from the main force can still kill people when no one is close.

And when I was talking about the turret, I meant have it near what your trying to defend, while you are somewhere nearby sniping at the main fight.

Also if half the team is sniping. It could work if they are all defending when the objective is to defend to win. If you are attacking then sniping to attack would be pointless. But sniping can be useful while defending.

That's why the sniper rifles in Brink aren't sniper rifles. They're light rifles, and will work more like oversized pistols than actual sniper rifles, from what I've seen.

Welcome back.

And who said operatives are good for much.

Agreed it would be harder to take that objective because all the defenders are not close together.

It's not so much that I left as much as it's that I ran out of things to say and respond to. That was quite the info-drought there for a while. Anywho, I'm going to consider the rifles in Brink more like semi-auto assault rifles than sniper rifles. Something you don't have to perch on a rooftop to use effectively, although it will probably be best to avoid close-quarters combat.
