I use apotheosis and its pretty good but runs out quick. Any better ones? Also I play on 360

There are some good staves you can get in random loot like the staff of conflagration that combine an area of effect with a short duration weakness to element that I like better than apotheosis. There is also the mages guild staff you get through the quest line. If you get it at level 15 or above and pick a destruction staff you will get a magicka efficient staff that does 80 points of your favorite elemental damage.

As Turija suggests, the best way to use a staff is to pair it with a custom Weakness spell. You can combine Weakness to Magic, and Weakness to whatever Element the staff uses, into a single spell with a duration of a few seconds. Cast that first, and then chase it with a blast from the staff, and you can magnify the staff's effect.
