Best Stories of Your Beta Experience?

Post » Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:55 am

Just interested to see if anyone had some interesting/funny/awesome stories from their experience in the latest Beta.

Personally, my best story came from the last 2 hours of the beta. A buddy of mine had issues downloading the game and didn't get on until about 10:00am EST. He was never an MMO player, only elder scrolls, so he wanted to run out randomly and go into the first dungeon he saw. He teleported to me at level 2 outside of Spindleclutch. We leveled him to 5 and decided to give it a go... finding a party was difficult, but we ended up going in with him a lvl 5 sorc, one lvl 9 DK, one lvl 9 nightblade and me, a lvl 14 DK.

Long story short we managed (much to my surprise) to make it to the final boss (giant daedra spider, forget her name). Either way, we were pretty under-leveled for the dungeon but manged through some creative tactics to make our way through the dungeon. Hilarious and entertaining at the same time, and shows that the personal skill of a group is far more important than the levels and gear they are using.

Any other interesting stories? I only managed to PvP for a short while before the lag made me give up, but I could believe some crazy sh*t went down.

That for me is good news, it's exactly what I want in this game.

For me it was experiencing several large sieges first hand in PvP. Simply awesome. That and squealing with delight as I managed to virtual kill some fellow players here and there. I may have been lucky but it felt great to not always be on the receiving end of death :) And this from an avid PvE player who normally steers clear of PvP.

Mine was from this past w/e beta. I had just got to lvl 10 on Saturday night, due to a character change, and decided on Sunday I'd try Cyrodiil. I joined the Chyrasmere (I'm WAY off on that spelling I bet) campaign and went to do my first quest, scout Blue Road Mine. On my way (switched I sneaked about 95% of the time while in enemy territory) I ran into a group of fellow AD recruits and we group together, about 8-9 of us, and took the mine then the farm and tried for the Keep but had to retreat. We ended up with reinforcements and took the Keep... I had sssoooo much fun. It was a great experience, my first with mulitplayers.

I come from old school table top gaming and at one point there were about 5 of us running a dungeon together but without having to actually group. Just 5 strangers who met at the entrance and went in and we were in no way hampered by not "grouping". It reminded me so much of a "first adventure...you all meet on the road" thing from D&D games past and something that I always felt was missing in other MMOs.

Oh and when I finally figured out the blasted Enchantment crafting skill and made my first flaming sword completely from scratch! That was epic.

Sneaking deep into the red teams turf and hoarking crafting mats.

Well okay then, lol, my other "good" story comes from random exploration. I was walking around Auridon and out of no where an anchor from Coldharbour drops down, I'm hiding behind a tree while 5 worm cultist summon daedra. I am trying to come up with some plan of killing them and NOT dying, I pan around to see about 3-4 other random strangers right next to me waiting. Then out of no where like 10-15 random players, no group to my knowledge, we all just charge in and fight the daedra. Other random players showed up afterwards, resurrecting dead players to help out again then when we won we all just went our separate ways... it was awesome.

Giving my son my extra beta key and having him, against all expectations, really liking the game. He leveled as fast as he could in a completely unfamiliar situation and we took down the Balreth Bone Boss together. He like me comes from shooters and does not have the benefit of playing Skyrim to at least teach him to hit stuff with a sword.

He has a new video card on the way and I think we will waste a lot of time learning about MMO combat. He is starting to use his slots and he will be good quickly.

I am very pleased. Now to troll this game past his sister who can kick both our asses in shooters.

For me it was spending the whole weekend with my best friend leveling and taking in the most amazing landscape I have ever seen in any mmorpg!! The graphics are absolutely out of this world!
