Best of the Worst...

Post » Sat Mar 13, 2010 3:59 am

Hello all,
what is the worse (or best) glich/bug ect that has happened to you during Fallout:New Vegas. Here's mine: After playing over 100 hours and at level 28 I had to reset (not restore/revert to original state) my playstation due to sound issues. Upon restarting the game and loading my save i am told (by the game) that I'm not the user and cannot save the game if I play it. Furthermore, all the dlc that I had is removed from the character and is gone. I am sooo bummed. Well, i hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. What's your story?

Permanent ant nectar addiction and a skipped level(went from 6 immediately to 8) were both game enders for me, so I'd say they were the worst. I've learned my lesson and hard save often and in different slots every time.

Best, none. Funniest-people randomly exploding into a pile of goo and teeth and walking a mile into the sky from off a rock down by the river(around Ranger Station Echo?). Worsts--freeze and reset constantly, quests perma-screwed,VATS not working 49% of the time, getting stuck in rocks, lockers stairs,doors..etc.,oh,I don't have time to list all the happy happy joy joy issues in this game....

Random Boone death. Every time I load my file, he dies in front of me for no reason. WTH aren't there console commands for PS3 to counteract this crap?

I can live with all the silly bugs like npcs and monsters getting
stuck, quests broken and unfinishable, disappearing inventory
items, guns that degrade so fast after one battle they're useless,
I mean armour I can see, but guns? come on..

The one I can't live with however is all the crashing/freezing that
this game seems to be riddled with... I'm taking this one back
to the store and trading it for something else cuz I'm tired of
having to constantly reset my game system in the middle of
playing the game and replaying stuff over and over and over..

This. Crashing and freezing is the worst. Like Mercy, I can live with all the other bugs but the crashing and freezing takes the joy out of playing this game. I am in constant fear when I play with every stutter, with every load screen, with every indoor/outdoor transition...freezing, freezing never changes since F3 to now. sigh. What I want to know is if they are going to fix the freezing. They never did for F3 even though the official word with F3 is "we're still looking into issues and we'll update when we have information". This is for F3, a game that was released like 2 years ago, 1 year ago for GoTY.

well i have not been able to play the game long enough to get more glitches....the only glitch i get is i'll play for roughly 2 minutes then if i'm in a building everything blacks out....the game does not freeze it just turns back. If i move around i can get flashes of the game to come back on, if i can make it back outside the screen turns back on but i notice if i go kill a scorpion or something it will black out then come back on once the scorpion is dead. Is this an issue with my playstation? i don't know, seems like i'm the only one with this certain type of problem.

I got the Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition and it 80$ + Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition Official Strategy Guide 35$! 80$ + 35$ = 115$ So didn't spend 115$ for a game i can't play! That my Hard Earned Cash!

Obsidian and Bethesda "WE" I Said "WE" "We are not your beta testers! We are the Customers and this should have "BEEN FIXED BEFOR RELEASE" Not after! We know your working hard or not on this Patch that shouldn't be "NEEDED"! Im not try to start any thing but this is unbelievable! Were are your beta testers? I don't know how most of the big bugs were missed! AS I SAY Again We are not your beta testers! We are the Customers! And you need to git this patch OUT A.S.A.P."

I had a funny and also realy nice glitch.

After I killed all the legions at their fort, i traveled back maybe 1 day later, and all the killed people had again loot in them.
Even realy nice expensive stuff!

Oh and if you are in novac, you can buy the storage key of the gey of the shop. Open the storage, you can take all the dino souvenirs (not stealing, no karma loss) and sell them back..
They're not so much worth, but hey, every 250 caps extra is welcome :)

Oh and nps's sleeping on their bed, but next to it in the air

People falling from the sky

So far the only bad glitch that i've got was the freezing, and sometimes it just ends my game, and goed back to ps3 main menu
But i;ll take it for granted.
Guys, you forget that this is realy a frikki'n big game, with so many details and quest.
They cannot see al the small glitches! Ok the freezing they should find a solution for, but the rest is not in a big hurry.
I think they did a realy good job making this game!!

So relax, and enjoy the game

My glitch is that I cannot enter the Northern part of the New Vegas Strip (where the Lucky 38 and Gomorrah are located) at all from Freeside, when I try to, a black screen comes up after the loading screen. When I enter from the other part of the the New Vegas Strip, I can usually walk around for (literally) a second before the game freezes. Also, I cannot load save files that I saved when in the New Vegas Strip (not just autosave files). Every friend I have which owns Fallout: New Vegas (4 people) have experienced this glitch and cannot play the game, because of it.

I've experienced a lot of other bugs, but this is the only one which just prevents me from playing the game.

If I look at the Gomorrah Casino (that is, rotate the camera with the right stick so that the building is more than halfway in the frame) the game freezes. Kind of makes it hard to investigate the mob family for the NCR.

Dude it sounds like you need to put on the Old Cowboy Hat (purchased from the store at the Crimson Caravan). Wear that and The Strip will load just fine. You must've missed the dialogue with Doc Mitchell when he explains that The Strip is haunted by the ghost of an old cowboy and that the ghost will make eternal darkness fall over the earth if someone tries to enter his territory without first putting on his old hat as a sign of solidarity. The explanation's in the instruction booklet too - I mean, having to put on that stupid-looking hat just for an essential section of the game to load properly would be the randomest, most stupid thing in the world otherwise...

I have lost Ed-e by the bombardment at boomers airfield, I get the texst he was unconscious but he never came back.
I have searched in the surroundings areas of boomer airfield but he was nowherehe to be found, also not a primm and lucky 38.
But apparently he is not gone, becaurse when I meet new places and people the frequently say ''nice robot'' or ''that robot give me the creaps''
So apparently he is still with me but I can not see of hear him any more:) :(

Also I have the freezing problem, and also the problem that he not like to come in certain areas.
I have problems arround hoover dam, to come there it quite a challenge:) :(
But without joking, it a shame that this game is put on the market in this state.
I loved fallout 3 and new vegas also looks to have a good story line, but the freezing and other problems knocks the fun of it down.
Even the patch dont change a thing:(
Im very disappointed.

Problem is I already tried this it doesn't work. The part of the strip where the lucky 38 is located freezes if I enter from the other part of the the New Vegas Strip, I can usually walk around for (literally) a second before the game freezes, and the screen just stays black if I enter through freeside (including playstation 3 freezing). Most people who have had this issue already know about this "fix", it doesn't work, not for me at least.

I've been to the part of the New Vegas Strip where the Lucky 38 is located with no problems before (without the cowboy hat as well).

People say it only starts happening when you perform the Things That Go Boom Quest.

Well, the best glitch is the one that didn't effect my game negatively and looked cool - I shot a giant rat in Freeside, and when the little girl chasing it knelt down to eat it she just kept floating forward on her knees - it appeared to be the most epic power slide ever.

The worst single glitch ever was when it skipped a level when I leveled up, thus losing my skill points and perk, since it was an even numbered level that got skipped.

But, the worst actual glitch is all the freezing, because it is so freaking prevalent. I have to assume from the number of glitches and occurrences of those glitches that NO ONE at Obsidian played this game from start to finish before releasing it. Either that or they realized how bad it was and said "good enough, screw it", and just gave up.

I was buying stuff from the gift shop guy in Novac and when I finished I had all his money in my inventory...? :P Very little in hindsight but back then I needed every single cap.

Worst glitch? Saves corrupting. All of them. Happened on my second day of playing which wasn't so bad... then it happened tonight. I can catch up. Yeah... that was just 100 hours of warming up. :sadvaultboy:

EDIT: Huh... seems to be working now? False alarm.

Having this glitch happen to me as well, svcks since all my active quests point to Mr. House, but can't get to the lucky 38.

Best glitch - before the patch - had the perk "Confirmed Bachelor" and always :tops: got all my stuff repaired for free by the Major at NCR Mohave Station; however, after the patch I now have to pay. :flame:

Worst - I can't get several quests to even begin - e.g. "Oh My Papa" I lock-picked the footlocker and stole Karl's journal, talked to Papa Khan, talked to Regis, etc. quest never activated and cannot even try to convince them to go with NCR.
