Best Tweaked Oblivion.ini

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:24 am

I've been tweaking my .ini after modding Oblivion. First I must ask -- is this a good idea? Or is there a chance what some of the mods are doing might be overwritten?

I feel like I've done more harm than good, and was hoping someone with a fully tweaked and optimized Oblivion.ini might be able to post and/or send me theirs. I have a Core i7 and a 5850 HD, so I can probably handle most of the performance tweaks.

Or is there one that's available on the net somewhere?

And lastly, I've looked everywhere but it seems impossible, no AA & HDR, right?

Thanks for any input.

Turn on HDR in the oblivion splash screen and Force AA through your Graphics card control panel.

Don't ever use a tweaked ini from someone else. Every machine is different, and some setting in theirs may bork up yours. If someone says otherwise, they don't know what they're talking about.

Nothing more needs to be said for this query.

This, however, could be written with slightly more emphasis, haha.

Oblivion.ini Tweaks - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/stabilization/oblivion <-- These tweaks are generally safe. Some have extra notes that explain the bad effects of going too far with certain tweaks. See the related resources for more information.

Thanks guys. I followed a few guides, but my main concern was that I may have disabled the effects of some mods. Is this possible? None of my mods altered the Oblivion.ini as far as I know.

I am seeing more pop-in than I used to, does anyone know what can control that?

Thanks.

It is possible for a mod to edit the ini, though the only one I know off the top of my head is Darn's UI mod.
