Best type of armor/weapon?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:24 am

Do you think daedric will be the best armor/weapon or will they come up with something new? What are some ideas you might have?

I always thought(although I may be wrong)that madness Armour was better. But yeah I hope there is new Armour types as well as a return of the old ones.

I imagine Daedric armor will remain the best. I'd probably be disappointed if it wasn't. What's better than armor constructed from the Daedric Princes?

Hopefully yes but typically in fantasy games dragon skin is the strongest armor.

Nope, you're right. Madness armor was superior to Daedric armor, provided you waited until level 23 and got the "Perfect" Madness armor.

Rather preferred the look myself, too. :)

No, it might just be resistant to fire/ice/poison/electricity/whatever depending on the dragon. If it's even included.

Daedric will probably remain king.

Glass will be the best armor since Bethesda every effing time don't take any precaution to balance light armor it is too easy to get hardly any weakness, daedric may be stronger but will it be as easy to obtain as glass?

Daedric is the best!!! they just need to NOT make it look like a rip-off of Sauron's Armour from LotR. I prefer the Morrowind Style.

It was in Oblivion...find any random Marauder, kill, take your Daedric armor, have a nice day!

It's made from entrapping a Daedra soul into styled Ebony Armour (giving it a red glow and outline), or so I heard.
Anyway, Daedric has to be the best! If it isn't I'll be :(

EDIT: It should also be very rare like in Morrowind. Only 1 or 2 sets in the entire game, and never in one place (unless they bring back Divayth Fyr).

I hope that Daedric armor will have highest armor rating. Still, I prefer glass armor from Morrowind. I was really disappointed how glass sets were made for OB, especially for the helm (just compare MW and OB glass armor sets...) Still, there should be some out-of-set pieces like cuiras of the savior's hide (MW) which offered extra armor rating in light armor branch. Anyway, top armor should be really hard to get.

My first instinct was to answer Daedric, but then I thought about it some more, and I changed my answer to dragon armor. Now, I never played Arena or Daggerfall, so my experience is only in Morrowind and Oblivion. In Morrowind, Daedric was king, but the toughest enemies were daedra. Then in Oblivion, Daedric was king again, but the whole game was centred around a threat from the Daedric realm. But in Skyrim, the big baddie is a dragon, so I think it's slightly more likely to be some sort of dragon armor.

I hope Daedric is the best except for legendary armour. I think there should be a unique set of armour that is better like there was in Morrowind.

In the terms of gameplay yes, but I think that Daedric is the strongest according to lore. That could be entirely wrong though...

problem with dragon armor is that you will run into dragons at different levels so they would had to be level scaled. Dragon armor pieces would also have to be level scaled.

It should be the best at a specific thing. The rarest of the rare armors should all be the best at a specific defencive ability but not be the best over eachother. There should be different pluses and minuses to each armor in the game. Leather doesent defend well against being hit by say a sword but it could have a slightly elevated defense against fire ice and shock while say steel is good against getting hit but does not protect as well against the element attack as fire would heat up the metal to dangerous levels ice would cool it bigtime and slow you down more then leather and steel conducts electricity. Also in leather since its lighter you can move faster but the steel would slow you down a tad bit. Thats an example and by no means do I think that is 100% accurate but its an attempt. All other armors could have simular means of balencing so its not one armor thats the best and gives a point in using the other armor.

I hope that they make Daedric armor EXTREMELY hard to find like in Morrowind where there were only 2 sets, and they were spread out all over Vvardenfell and the two expansions. But I also hope that they make a really nice set of armor that is on par with Daedric or tops it.

I would like to see them bring back really powerful rare items, like the Fists of Randagulf.

Daedric or Dragon will probably be the most powerful though.
